Photography in night - monomad daily chalenge

Hello to all my friends in the Black & White Community, it’s Mentii and I’m back with another blog and another photoshoot!

This time, I dove Between iron fences, the silence of night, and spotlighted shadows, a new story emerged. The model in front of my lens didn’t just pose — he existed. Purely, effortlessly, and honestly. That’s what I wanted to capture. Not postures, but presence.

The first shot is a moment of stillness. Sitting on a chessboard pedestal, his gaze reaches into the distance — a blend of confidence and calm. Side lighting from the right brings out the masculine features of his face, while the blurred industrial background deepens the sense of solitude.

In the second image, standing beside cold iron fences, we see how boundaries become part of identity. The hand in the pocket, body leaning slightly against the structure, and that confident look forward — it all signals inner strength and control. The lighting hits from the left, subtly revealing the texture of his shirt, the shine of his watch, and the metal in his rings.

The third portrait feels softer, more emotional. A glow from behind his head silhouettes his hair — it’s less about structure, more about feeling. He seems lost in thought — caught somewhere between hesitation and decision.

And the fourth image pulls you closer. A direct look into the camera, hand resting under his chin, a quiet certainty in his eyes. The lighting isolates his face and gives texture to every detail — the skin, the hair, even the depth in his gaze. It’s not just a photo — it’s a confrontation with the self. Raw and undiluted.

This shoot mattered to me because it showed how even in a dark, restricted space, you can tell a full story — one that’s real, intimate, and cinematic. All of these photos were taken on a summer night, under an urban sky where the wind whispered through metal fences and city lights softly etched shadows on his face.

Thanks for being here — always.
