Monomad Stone & Woman: A Quiet Presence Among Rocks

Hello to all my friends in the Black & White Community, this is Menati again, back with another blog and another photography session!

This time, we are standing in the heart of a vast and empty stone quarry; where tall white rock walls, like silent giant canvases, hold the stillness of the space. A gentle breeze moves through the delicate tulle of the model’s dress, and she sits gracefully in the frame with a soft smile. The natural morning light, gentle and perfect, falls on the textures of the stone and the contours of her face, giving fresh life to the scene; not too harsh, not too dim—exactly what a photographer needs for a pleasant outdoor capture.

In one shot, the model sits on the edge of a stone block; her legs slightly dangling, the long trail of her tulle dress playfully tracing the surface and cascading down the edge. At that moment, her curly hair dances lightly in the wind, adding a sense of movement and life to this still frame.

In another image, she stands confidently, hand softly placed behind her head, offering a shy yet determined gaze toward the camera. Here, her presence matters most: calm yet powerful. Her gaze doesn’t say “I’m posing”; it says “I am here,” and that genuine presence is the most valuable thing a photographer can capture.

The choice of black & white for this series was entirely deliberate; not just for visual beauty or nostalgia but to highlight forms and textures: the rough textures of the stone walls alongside the delicate tulle fabric, the contrast between her soft skin and the rugged stone.

In one photo, the cracked and uneven ground beneath her is clearly visible—a part of the scene’s reality that is often cropped out, but I chose to keep it in frame, because these authentic details make this moment’s story more truthful.

This session wasn’t just about a beautiful model or a chic dress—it was about a place marked by erosion and time, and a woman who quietly, yet firmly, made her presence felt amid this history.

Thank you for being with me.
