Monomad Brotherhood Before the Ceremony

Hello to all my friends in the Black & White Community, this is Menati again, back with another blog and another photography session!

This time, I’m sharing a special and different series: a black and white narrative of a men’s gathering before the ceremony—a time filled with friendship, humor, and preparation.

The soft, natural light filtering through the wooden blinds dominated the space. A blend of shadows and highlights beautifully conveyed the mood of a calm yet exciting morning. In the first image, five sharply dressed men stand center frame, their gazes serious but their presence full of energy and unity. The central figure holding a small bouquet hints at a moment where he stands as the focus while his friends supportively flank him.

In one frame, friends gently adjust the groom’s tie and jacket—a tender, quiet act of camaraderie. The backlit scene emphasized the lines of their suits and their subtle, careful touches.

Another image captured them laughing together, hands in motion, faces lit with genuine smiles, and a tall houseplant in the corner, its arching leaves adding a peaceful background element.

One especially telling shot shows them gathered around a bottle and glasses—a simple but meaningful ritual. Their heads leaning in, genuine smiles, and eyes focused on a shared moment. This wasn’t just about ceremony anymore; it was about the friendship that has endured for years and was now being documented in timeless monochrome.
Lighting throughout this series was minimal: a single light source from the window sufficed to let the shadows dance on their faces and suits. The background was clean, with plain walls and elegant tall plants—allowing nothing to distract from the people themselves.
In one random image, which I want to highlight, the groom looks down with one hand in his pocket and flowers in the other. The light streaming behind him created a striking contrast with his calm, focused expression—a quiet but powerful moment.
These photos remind us that togetherness finds meaning even in the simplest moments. This series was an opportunity to document just that meaning.
