This week on Busek's Balcony

avatar

After a bit of rain, the weather was once again sunny and perfect for enjoying being outdoors on the balcony. Being on the 4th floor allows a wonderful view of Busek's kingdom.

This female Eastern Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes) stopped by to visit the Calibrachoa (commonly known as Million Bells).

Busek suffered an eye injury when he was living on the streets of Sochi and after he was adopted and moved to Chicago in 2017 with his mom, many treatments were tried before he eventually lost the eye. It has not slowed him down!

The sun is setting and it's time for everyone to join Busek, relax, and watch the Milwaukee Brewers play baseball. It's his favorite time of day.

It appears that way, at least until it's time for a nap!

What a beautiful balcony you have! Stunning. And your cat is so cute, even with just one eye

I do not even know which photo I should particularly praise. But when I got to the last one, I immediately realized it was her.

How did Busek move from Sochi to live in Chicago? The one-eyed bandit.

The balcony is simply amazing, awesome!

Ella rescued him when she lived in Sochi. When she decided to move to the US there was no way she was going to leave him behind! He was a champ on all the air flights to Chicago and was perfectly happy in his new home as long as his mom was there!

Nice butterfly photos. Busek does look genuinely interested in the game. My wife's cousin makes cider. And they are organic now too.

Thanks! Those butterflies are such beauties.
Busek has a short attention span. I think naps take priority over baseball!

Busek is a champion, this is an expression that we Colombians use to indicate that he represents the person or animal that does not give up easily.

What lovely captures of Busek's kingdom, from Busek, the flowers, the butterfly, relaxing scene with you and Busek and the stunning sunset reflection on the windows. Wonderful view, indeed. Amazing resilience, wish all people be like Busek. ❤️
