The joy of springtime
Today is dark and cloudy with occasional rain showers. It seems like the perfect day to reminisce about the lovely sunshiny spring days I enjoyed last week.
,My grandmother's birthday would have been on Monday May 26th. I attribute my love of nature to her. She is the one who taught me how to plant tulip bulbs and helped me identify the springtime flowers I found growing in the woods. I learned the names of birds from her and spent warm summer days picking blackberries on the hillside behind the cottage with her that would be baked into a pie. I miss her, She taught me so much and it is a joy to remember her on her birthday.

There are not nearly as many here as there used to be, but more and more land is being planted into butterfly meadows. So there is hope.

Fantastic shots! Personally, the purple flowers really got my attention. It's not just the color, it's how it is being captured. What do you call that flower anyway? It's like it can be great to be placed on gardens or pots as a home decor.
Thank you. I believe the purple flowers are Anemone. They are lovely, aren't they? I think they are a perennial that only blooms for a short time in the spring.

There are many types of warblers and they are all cute little birds!
One thing is for sure... You had a very good relationship with your grandma and you're very observant. She tought you well and you reaping the reward today. Hopefully, you will see her again when all things are new.

Happy Birthday Grandma 🙂 we all have some one that turned us on to nature. What a blessing they are 👍 I saw my first painted lady butterfly this week. We are finally having some great weather. Sunny and warm.
Such weather is pleasant and much more memorable. It's a good thing that birthdays are being celebrated. Such events are always memorable.
Oh how beautiful. And what a lovely tribute to your Gran. Mine used to take me to out local botanical gardens to see all the fauna and flora. I miss her dearly to. She passed away in 2019 at the age of 100 years and 4 months old 💜
