Plenty of Roses

These photos are for everyone who can't get enough of roses!

The Chicago Botanic Garden, located in the suburb of Glencoe, Illinois covers 385 acres. It is situated across nine islands surrounded by six miles of scenic lake shorelines. There are millions of plants in 28 different gardens and four natural areas.

The Rose Garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden covers three-acre and includs over 5,000 rose bushes, with more than 200 distinct varieties.

There are modern hybrids, and climbing roses trailing up wooden trellises that fill the air with incredible fragrances from mid June until August when they are at their peak, although many varieties will still be blooming in October

"Stop and smell the roses" is a popular idiom advising you to slow down, relax, and appreciate the simple beauties of life instead of rushing through it.The exact origin of the phrase is widely debated, but it is frequently attributed to the professional golfer Walter Hagen, who wrote in his 1956 autobiography (The Walter Hagen Story), "You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry, and be sure to smell the flowers along the way."

Does a bee collect nectar from roses? She makes rose's honey.

Lovely photos. I have a couple of roses here in Vermont. In my backyard in California I had several different varieties. I think 6 different colors.

I can not successfully grow roses in my shady yard. I'm sure your Cali roses grew well!

It was crazy how well they grew lol we would get frustrated with mites and cut them all the way down some years, then the next year they would be back bigger than ever.

There are many beautiful flowers there. When I go for a walk, we see a lot of them here too. Their fragrance is also very good, so we become much healthier.
