Not exactly macros

I'm still saving up for a macro lens for my camera, but as food and energy costs continue to rise, my monthly income isn't stretching far enough for luxuries.

These photos are as close as I can get, but mostly they fit the category of 'close ups', not macros. I'm not a photographer, but I do enjoy taking pictures and occasionally I get one that I like.

It was a beautiful sunny morning. Perfect for being outdoors with my camera. The neighbors chickens hear my screen door shut, and it isn't long before I hear them coming through the woods. I know it's the wrong community but I wanted to include this Feathered Friend photo for @blanchy

This big boy is so curious and must be part of whatever I am doing. He has grown so much. It's hard to believe that just a few months ago he was a fuzzy little chick under a heat lamp.

This Virginia Creeper vine has turned a lovely burgundy color. It is one of the first signs in my yard that autumn is very soon to arrive.

It is growing on an Ash tree that is one of the few remaining in the area. Emerald ash borders have infested and killed most of the ash trees in Wisconsin. I wonder if this one will get leaves next spring. I will miss it. I've planted a birch tree to replace it, but it will take a long time to grow and provide shade.

I will need to bring this yellow hibiscus indoors for the winter. It won't survive the cold and will sit in the south window and give me blossoms for an occasional cup of tea on cold mornings.

There you go, Mick! One of these days I'll be able to post my attempt at some macro shots!

Awww, thanks! Out of 5 there are only 3 chickens left. A possum got into the hen house one night and killed two of them, so I particularly enjoy this guy.

Macro is as macros does 😁 I like your close ups. Especially the second shot of the purple flower and the close up of "big boy". I took a picture for you today.
I have a couple of small oaks that are doing their best to put on a good color show 🙂

Thanks! Look at that beautiful little oak! I noticed one big one across the road today that is beginning to turn, but most of them are still completely green. It is supposed to get below freezing tomorrow night, so that will begin to make a difference. Someday yours will be big and mighty!

The community accepts 'close-ups'
My intention was to help make more people aware of this new community.

That's a big, beautiful and healthy chicken. A result of your generousity, n doubt.
Nice photos of the lovely flowers.

He may get an occasional handful of oatmeal as a reward for all the slugs and pests he eats!

Perfect shots without any lens. The Cock has made this post more attractive.

I think you are doing great with your photos without having the specific lens for macros.

The chicken is quite big. Hehe.

I liked the photo of off-white flowers the most

I love your close up photos.

All my photos these days come from my phone 😄 but once in a while I get an accidental photo that has done a really great close up that is nearly macro. When I try to do it though, it just comes out blurry.

How much does a real macro lens sell for these days?
