Birds in the backyard and at the feeders

Baltimore Oriole

This male Baltimore Oriole clearly loves the spoonfuls of grape jelly that I put out in the feeder outside my window. It is entertaining to watch them bickering with each other about who's turn it is to eat.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Rose-breasted Grosbeak

The male Rose-breasted grosbeak brightens up the backyard as he stops by to grab some seeds out of the feeder. They also eat insects and fruit and he occasionally will stop by the jelly feeder.

Northern House Wren

This tiny little house Wren is busy gathering nesting material. Because they mainly eat insects and spiders they aren't visitors to the feeders

American Robin The American Robin is posed on the roof of the garage. They are most often seen running across the lawn stalking earthworms.

Gray Catbird

Gray Catbird

Gray Catbird

The sweet cat bird pair brought their new fledgling to the feeder for its first visit yesterday. The nest is in my yard so they don't have far to go for a meal, They love fruit, so the jelly feeder is a popular snack stop for them, too. I buy grape jelly 8 jars at a time!

Black-capped Chickadee

The black capped chickadee will eat most anything! They are often at the seed and suet feeders, but they don't stay long as they have a penchant for storing food and eating it later.

Blue jay

This Blue jay is quite happy to fly off with this big chunk of seeds he was able to pull out of the feeder. Baby Blue jays rely on their parents for food for several weeks after leaving the nest.

Good evening Mom❤️🙏
I can already imagine how happy you feel when you can always hear the sound of birds chirping, feeding them, of course it will attract them to come to your house every day

The Blue Jay bird really caught my attention, it's really amazing, have a nice day Mom

Thank you for the curation vote! I love seeing and hearing the birds. The Blue Jays are especially lovely and this photo does not do them justice. They are really gorgeous birds.

It's really a joy to be able to enjoy such beautiful birds every day. Seeing them I immediately imagine their singing every morning, it's really melodious. You are very lucky.

I love seeing and hearing them. I'm not the best at identifying them by their calls, but I do recognize a few.

Oh wow it is posts like these with bird photos that make me wish I carried a real camera with me! For the life of me, despite being able to capture other things on my phone, I can’t seem to get a decent picture of the birds around here! Awesome shots.

It also reminds me that I need to invest in some bird feeders for the yard again this year. I neglected them in the last few in favour of investing in flowers for the pollinators but have hummingbirds and others to invite to the yard too!

Bird photos take lots of quietly sitting still time! I love attracting the birds to the feeders to come close so that I can enjoy them. And when they are close by it is easier to get photos!

I love that you are planting for the pollinators! I just learned that we need to be concerned about leaving lights on Outdoors at night. Moths that are circling the porch light are doing so because they are disoriented and instead of being out doing their pollination work we are distracting them with outdoor lighting.

Wow I never thought of that. I usually make sure to turn the outdoor lights off at night to reduce light pollution, not shine a light at my neighbours, and because I am cheap!

Now I have a 4th reason! ;)

Same for me! I like seeing the stars and I'm cheap, too! 😁

Those are some great pictures and some very pretty visitors. Blue jays are always pretty as are orioles. The red-breasted grosbeak is really pretty. You got some awesome pictures there, robins live just about everywhere don't they. They love looking for worms in the early morning!

Thanks! My bird feeders are positioned so that I have a perfect view while I'm sitting in my comfy chair. Watching them is better than any TV screen.

Wonder's of creation. Mare looking at this birds gives me joy and motivation. Look at how beautiful they are and how hard the work to get food to eat, this motivats me to work harder. And thank you for the spoonful grape jelly you always keep on your window. That's a kind gesture and if only birds can talk...you will hear them saying thank you.
