Back to Baja
My kids took so many beautiful photos during their 10 day holiday in Baja California Sur, Mexico during March that I have albums full of whales, birds, plants, flowers, sunsets, waves and beaches and I want to share a few more here!
Most of these were taken at Villa Santa Cruz near Todos Santos.
Bougainvillea is an interesting desert flower that has thorns and are often planted as security fences. If you look closely at the center of the magenta clusters, you'll see tiny, creamy-white trumpet-shaped structures. Those are the actual flowers. The colorful parts are bracts, which are basically leaves.
There was often early morning fog along the Pacific Coast and it offered ever changing views in the morning and evening, but always beautiful photo opportunities.

Humpback whales migrate thousands of miles from their feeding grounds in the north (like Alaska) to the warm lagoons of Baja California Sur to mate and give birth. It takes hours of watching and a quick shutter finger to caprure action shots like this

There was a lunar eclipse while they were there. It was a perfect spot for sky watching.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. Some were taken with a Google Pixel 10 and others using a camera and tripod. Even after tons of research the tripod caused some airport chaos. No problems on the flight going there, but a costly baggage check when returning home. But at least it arrived safely!
Amazing place from all points of view. Nature, history, agriculture. Very peaceful. Love the building pic with the moon on the side.

This is the main Mexican Hacienda style villa at Villa Santa Cruz. My kids stayed in a tent like structure on the beach rather than in the villa. Isn't that a beautiful photo, though?

Wow what a great adventure with ao many colourful pictures to share! Amazing how great smartphone pictures turn out these days and how anyone can enjoy photography.
I bet capturing that whale was a sport in itself. How many did they miss before capturing that one?
They were able to take a lot of whale photos right from their beach chairs!

Thanks. I wish I could see stars like that from my home, but there is too much light pollution coming from nearby towns.
It sure makes me miss living in the tropics... Flowers year round and it's always great weather, maybe I should just move back to the Caribbean! lol
