A Sublime and Beautiful day by the river

avatar

This post is for #SublimeSunday inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108.

The Jackson Street Bridge across the Rock River at sunset. Monterey Bay in Wisconsin.

Sunny autumn days along the river are beautiful and quite sublime!

There are Canadian geese on the river all year long, but their numbers increase this time of year as birds from further north begin migrating south.

We have not yet had a killing frost, so even though some leaves have begun to turn, there is still plenty of green. Our days are numbered though as the northern part of the state is expecting a significant snowfall tonight.

I always miss the colors during our long cold winters.

Beautiful photography!
The coloring and the contrasts are great. It's true, in the fall season everything green changes to earthy colors: browns in various shades, which in certain cases the leaves are almost red.
What beautiful hydrangeas! It's one of my wife's favorite flowers. The gooseberries look great plump and healthy Are they edible? Will there be hunting season (roguish guffaws)?
Thank you @melinda010100 for sharing such wonderful photos with all of us.

Thanks! The photos that look like purple berries are actually a common autumn flower that grows in road ditches and sunny spots. Purple Asters are always one of the last flowers flowers to bloom each summer and are sign that the seasons are changing.

Thank you for being so wonderfully engaged. I love seeing your comments and it will give your account a big boost! ♥️

Yikes heavy snowfall. Too soon 😅 I like the picture of the bridge turning pink in the sunset 👍

I love that bridge. My daughter was on the committee that made the decisions on the bridge design when it was rebuilt a few years ago. They chose a design as close to the old Bridge as possible and the old fashioned street lights all along the bridge are beautiful.

The UP has winter storm warnings... 16 Inches!

Enjoy the sunny autumn before the snow comes. I guess the geese have to go when that happens.

They do leave when the snow covers their food supply! Right now they are finding plenty to eat in the farmers freshly harvested fields.

When I was growing up we used to only see Canada geese in the winter in my part of the UK. But over the years they have become resident. The pond near us is full of them and they have pushed out some of our native species. They are handsome birds but they've become a bit of a nuisance.

It's still very mild here, 17-19C, and only a few trees gave turned colour. Snow used be a feature of winter here in the south east of England, but now it's a rarity. With the price of fuel, I'm hoping it stays mild as long as possible.

Too many geese are a messy nuisance! We get enough snow during the winter that when their food supply gets covered over they migrate south, but they are usually here until Christmas. Southeast England. That's the only part of your country, besides London, that I have visited. I spent some time in Kent and the Isle of Sheppey.

I'm in Sussex, about 20 miles away from Brighton. So a little bit west of the Isle of Sheppey, and about 50 miles south of London.
