Ecos del Alma: el arte expuesto en Margarita [Esp/Eng]

Hola, mi linda comunidad.

Quiero contarles algo sencillo que me alegró el fin de semana pasado. Descubrí una pequeña exposición de arte llamada "Ecos del Alma" en el Centro Comercial Costazul, de un proyecto que en redes sociales se llama “Somos 111.1”.

Fui a este centro comercial para acompañar a mi mamá y a mi hermanita a una reunión que tenían de asuntos de la promoción de bachillerato de mi hermanita. Y cuando comenzamos a dirigirnos hacia la feria me percaté que en una vitrina habían varias cositas de arte.

I want to tell you about something simple that made me happy last weekend. I discovered a small art exhibition called “Ecos del Alma” (Echoes of the Soul) at the Costazul Shopping Center, part of a project on social media called “Somos 111.1” (We Are 111.1).

I went to this mall to accompany my mom and my little sister to a meeting they had about my sister's high school graduation. And when we started walking toward the fair, I noticed that there were several small art pieces in a display case.

Al llegar a la feria, hablé un rato con los compañeros de clase de mi hermanita y luego decidí ir a buscar este lugar que me había llamado la atención.

Justo cuando entré, lo primero a lo que me acerqué fue a unas telas pintadas, que por pena, solo le tomé foto a esta pequeña. Además, no sabía si podía tomar fotos. Pero, habían telas que medían al menos 1 metro con diseños de flores.

When I arrived at the fair, I talked for a while with my little sister's classmates and then decided to go look for this place that had caught my attention.

As soon as I entered, the first thing I approached was some painted fabrics, but unfortunately, I only took a photo of this small one. Besides, I didn't know if I was allowed to take photos. However, there were fabrics measuring at least 1 meter with flower

En lo que fui avanzando, me percaté que había un señor tomándole foto a todo lo que veía. Y ese fue el permiso social que necesitaba, así que olvidé mis pensamientos anteriores y yo también comencé a tomar varias fotos. Como esta, donde puedo mostrar un poco de como se ve el lugar por dentro después de que termine de ver las telas exhibidas.

As I moved forward, I noticed that there was a man taking pictures of everything he saw. And that was the social permission I needed, so I forgot my previous thoughts and started taking several pictures myself. Like this one, where I can show a little bit of what the place looks like inside after I finish looking at the fabrics on display.

Me acerqué a ver un poco más ese cuadro de ese muro porque se me hizo bastante interesante el diseño que tenía. Me di cuenta que la firma de su creadora estaba en una esquinita, así que le tomé foto para ver si podría encontrar más de su trabajo en las redes sociales.

I went over to take a closer look at that painting on the wall because I found the design quite interesting. I noticed that the artist's signature was in the corner, so I took a photo of it to see if I could find more of her work on social media.

En ese mismo muro seguí viendo todo lo que estaba exhibido y me percaté que algunas cosas ya tenían una ficha donde decía como se llama la obra, el nombre del creador y otros datos, pero otras no las tenían. Y es que resulta que llegué a esta exhibición justo cuando a penas seguían acomodando unas cosas jaskaja.

On that same wall, I continued looking at everything on display and noticed that some items already had a label indicating the name of the work, the name of the creator, and other information, but others did not. It turns out that I arrived at this exhibition just as they were still arranging some things.

Mientras seguía viendo, me percaté de una señora que se estaba encargando que colocar estas fichas a las obras, pero, aun no quería acercarme a ella a preguntarle unas dudas que tenía, Así que continue viendo.

As I continued watching, I noticed a woman who was in charge of placing these tokens on the works, but I still didn't want to approach her to ask her some questions I had, so I continued watching.

Luego me topé con unas obras que parecían ser dibujos, las cuales me gustaron bastante. Y justo debajo de esas, se encontraban cajas con diseños muy antiguos o piedras que también estaban pintadas o de alguna manera modificadas.

Then I came across some works that appeared to be drawings, which I liked quite a bit. And just below those were boxes with very old designs or stones that were also painted or modified in some way.

Y justo cuando me iba a pasear por el otro lado, me topé con la señora a la cual aun no me quería acercar y me habló. Ella me preguntó si me gustaba lo que estaba viendo. A lo que claramente contesté que sí. Y aproveché el momento para preguntarle sobre los artistas de todo lo que estaba viendo. Si todos son de la isla. A lo que ella me contestó que sí, que, de hecho, son 4 artistas contándola a ella, los cuales trabajaron en ese proyecto.

Y cuando pregunté más sobre ella, resulta que era la creadora de esas obras que ven en blanco y negro. Y otras que logré ver dentro de una habitación a la que no se podía entrar porque aun acomodaban, pero ella me dejó. Como estas:

And just as I was about to walk over to the other side, I bumped into the lady I still didn't want to approach, and she spoke to me. She asked me if I liked what I was seeing. To which I clearly replied yes. And I took advantage of the moment to ask her about the artists behind everything I was seeing. If they were all from the island. She replied that yes, in fact, there were four artists, including herself, who worked on that project.

And when I asked her more about herself, it turned out that she was the creator of those works you see in black and white. And others that I managed to see inside a room that was off-limits because they were still setting it up, but she let me in. Like these:

Luego de eso y recorrer todo ese lugar, salí con la sensación de haber tropezado con algo íntimo, porque hasta la iluminación del lugar te hace tener sensaciones distintas.

After that and touring the entire place, I left with the feeling of having stumbled upon something intimate, because even the lighting in the place makes you feel different sensations.
