Definitely worth the hike!
I was thinking myself that the runoff from all the cow muck might be contributing to the green of that side of the lake. Very cool though and I loved that little church

Yeah that's what I'm thinking also. It would be impossible to stop the cow waste from entering the lake when it rains and it rains a lot on the islands. I was wondering how the town treats their drinking water down there.
Hopefully it's un-lake related!!
I know a lot of the rivers in England have suffered terrible from run off from farmlands, a lot of it has been fertilizer which lets gage it is pretty much manure!
One of the great lakes in Canada/US (Lake Erie) was declared eutrophic at one point because of agricultural runoff. The lake is massive so it's crazy to fathom how such a large body of water could reach such a state. It was a huge process to fix the issue and a lot of changes were made to rules and regulations. They also added some invasive species (zebra mussels) to eat up the algae but they spread through all the other lakes of course.
Adding invasive species almost always backfires! You wonder why they still think it is a good idea.
We don't have many that cope because the endless wet depresses them 🤣🤣
Yes exactly 😂
It's like omg we are doing this again. What fresh hell is this going to create in the next few years?
