Winter olympics, beer and dreams about sunny days with a West Coast IPA.

Hey, there, how are you? Long time no see…

It is actually my first post in a while and although my schedule is quite busy even in the weekends I decided it is time to throw some lines and join the greatest Hive challenge of all times - #beersaturday .

This afternoon I am watching for the first time the winter olympics, specifically a biathlon competition, where our Bulgarian team has a solid presence. One of our girls - Lora Hristova has already won a brinze medal and she keeps on doing great in the other disciplines. This medal is great achievement for our country, where the financing of sports isnt great and our athettes are constantly struggling and training with poorly working national support.

Meanwhile I decided to open and enjoy a West Coast IPA, brewed by Pinta brewery, originating from Poland, and dream about sunny days without clouds, mist, snow… or anything. This year I cannot remember many good days and this is a bit depressing. But… spring is approaching and we will see sun between the clouds more often.

About this polish beer… West coast IPA is one of my favorite varieties of this style and I had some great expectations about it. I live the driness and the heavy hoppines of the style. This one, though is not that fresh, and I don’t know it is due to an older brew, which degraded its qualities over time, or it is because of not so perfect recipe.

It looks quite good, relatively clear and very promising. It has a good head retention, but definitely lacjs some freshness and hops taste explosion.

It is bot that bad overall, but if I have ankther chance to buy this one, I would most probably skip it. And as I am writing this the biathlon competition is already over and our Bronze medal girl achieved the 7th place, which is perfect. In the last winter olympics she managed to finish… last! And this year she has 3rd and 7thbplaces, which is more than awesome.

I hope that in the next Olympic games she will manage to keep her excellent form, maybe even improve a bit. She is now 22 and her career is in front of her. So I will keep my fingers crossed for her and hope that the team will continue with the gerat work.
