Let’s end 2023 with some thoughts and recap for the year. As usual, in the company of some great coffee and warm family moments.

My tradition of a Saturday coffee post is broken. It is Sunday now and I decided to write this today… in the last day of the year. I write this post with many thoughts about 2023, about what it gave to us and what it has taken, but after all the good moments always overpower the bad.

And what can make a day better than a tasty cup of coffee… A cup of coffee from India!

I bought a bag of India coffee beans about a month ago and I liket them a lot! There was another variety from this country in the specialty coffee shop, but it was a bit more expensive. I didn’t want to give that much money, but this was only before I saw the offer. I managed to grab the two varieties of Indian coffee in a box with 20% discount, which was the deal of the month!

The beans in the more expensive Araku coffee lot are even a little bit lighter roasted. The people who follow my posts should know that I love light roasted coffee, because it brings a ton of bright and fresh aroma, especially when coffee is of a good quality. And look at these beans! They look perfect shaped, nice and big.

I already can catch the notes of raisins, blueberry and dates. Quite an exquisite and fine aroma straight from the bag! Specialty coffee is a pleasure in every step starting from the bag opening, then grinding, pouring over with hot water and then enjoying the perfection.

This coffee I wanted to try on AeroPress first. This brewing method always gives a tasteful cup of coffee, preserving all the unique flavors in every coffee variety.

With these two coffees from India, the country proves to be one of the very best coffee producers. Their coffee has its distinctive character, often hosting a bit of spociness and a lot of natural sweetness in the coffee cherry.

And as I said, while I am enjoying my coffee I am thinking of all the good things that happened to me during the year. Of course there are a lot of them, but the main event was the birth of my daughter. She is the third kid of ours and now our house is full of children’s laughter and constant play.

She is 9 months old now and is already looking like a young little lady. Her big brothers are giving her a lot of love and care, although they are not that big yet, the older one being 4 years old and the little - just two.

The three of them always make my day brighter and happier. The coffee is just a company in the setup.

Another big thing from the passing year is that I started a new more profitable and enjoyable job, but really… the family and the kids are the things that matter most!
