The Adagya community is ready.

Today is a day to remember, as we finally connected with the leaders of the Adagya community to outline our mission and plans to assist them. We had a wonderful and warm welcome, and their genuine excitement reminded us why we do what we do. For years, they have lived with the pain of not having clean and safe drinking water. This has had a serious impact on their health, life, and ways of living.

The joy and happiness we saw in the faces of the leaders and the community members is priceless. The start of this project is a new beginning of hope and transformation for Adagya. I am excited that we have agreed with the community leaders to start work on this borehole, which will soon relieve hundreds of people.

Adagya is located at Offinso in the Ashanti region of Ghana and is mostly a farming community, where water is the essence of their existence. This is for drinking and sustaining farmland while facilitating their day-to-day activities. With the borehole, we are giving them their most important asset to be successful, which is water.

With reliable clean water access for the farmers of Adagya, the farmers no longer need to depend on distant and unsafe water sources or unpredictable rainfall for their irrigation. More importantly, by growing their own crops and vegetables and having them on consumption tables quicker, farmers not only ensure the viability of their crops, but they can grow a variety of crops and vegetables while providing better food security for the community and enhancing full-year nutrition for their families.

Furthermore, being able to access water closer will assist women and children with valuable time and energy. So they can spend it back on their families and farm or exploring different farming approaches which can improve their productivity. In turn, this will contribute directly to improving the economy of the community. Farmers can sell excess produce to nearby markets, increasing household income and paving a way for new means of prosperity.

We also hope this process will inspire the young people of the community to place greater emphasis on their involvement and empower them to change their lives in a significant and positive manner. As always, I will continue to update everyone daily on the progression and completion of the project, from the first drill to the day we commission it for the people of Adagya.
