Reflections on the Pier

avatar

Hello fellow shadow and reflection hunters!

Today I want to share some images to participate in this creative contest. I've had these photos in my camera's memory for a while, saved and waiting for the right moment to share them here.

These reflections were taken in different places and on different days. Whenever I see reflections in the water, I remember this community and wait until I have good images to participate in the contest. I don't usually hunt for reflections, but there are always some that are very striking and impossible to ignore.

I love the reflections in the pond in the park where I often go for walks, but the water is always a bit cloudy from moss and dirt, so there are few days when I can get good pictures there.

A few days ago, I went to the pier. The weather was perfect, there wasn't much wind, and the water was calm, reflecting everything beautifully, like a large mirror. So I took several photos of the boats, but only two were chosen.

On another note, I usually use PeakD to publish. I've gotten used to its interface and find it very user-friendly, but I wanted to try other platforms or Dapps to get to know them, so I decided to make this post on Inleo.io. However, I encountered a small issue: it wouldn't accept some of my images, telling me they were too large, even though they were the same size as others it had already accepted. After cropping them and trying several times, I still got the error, so I decided to upload them to Peakd and then paste them into Inleo.io.

I didn't like that because my images aren't very large. Or was I doing something wrong? Anyway, I was only able to upload vertical images here. If anyone else has had the same experience, please let me know in the comments.

That calm day at the pier is exactly when the water behaves. On Inleo, the uploader often rejects files when the width is very large even if the MB size is small, and it’s fussier with PNG than JPG—some days it’s picky before coffee. Try exporting at 2400–3000 px on the long edge, JPG around 85% quality, strip EXIF, then drag-and-drop. Were the ones that failed wide landscapes or PNGs?

Hahaha, then I should try it after coffee.

The images that failed are the first four; only the last two went through without any problems, and they are larger. I don't know what EXIF is; forgive my ignorance.

What I plan to do next time, if the problem persists, is to re-upload them to Peakd and then paste them here, so I don't complicate my life. I don't like to complicate things when I can find a quick solution.

Thanks for responding so quickly!

Coffee first is always a good plan. EXIF is just the hidden info inside a photo, like camera model, date, maybe GPS. Removing it can shrink the file and calm picky uploaders. Your PeakD workaround is perfectly fine, but if you want to try Inleo again, export as JPG around 85% quality at 2400–3000 px on the long edge, remove metadata if the editor offers it, then drag and drop. Thanks for the quick update, and I’m curious if coffee makes Inleo behave.
