Hey amigos! Cómo están?

Si bien la idea original de la comunidad es fomentar y compartir encuentros entre los Hivers que viven en España, También son bienvenidas las publicaciones sobre lugares de este bello país. A lo mejor uno de estos lugares sea el sitio de uno de los encuentros próximos en la comunidad ¿Quien sabe?

Como sea, esta es mi primera publicación en Hive-Spain, y que mejor manera de hacer mi debut que compartiendo uno de los bellos rincones que tiene Vigo para ejercitarse o bien para hacer un paseo en contacto con la naturaleza.

El Parque o Monte de la Guía, es una elevación que se encuentra en la parroquia de Teis y que se puede visualizar desde el centro de Vigo, está ubicado aproximadamente a unos 100 metros sobre el nivel del mar y en su cumbre hay una pequeña iglesia o capilla llamada, Ermita de Nuestra Señora de la Guía. Lamentablemente no estaba abierta cuando fuimos, de echo, tengo entendido que solo la abren en ocasiones especiales.

Este paseo lo hice hace una semana con dos amigas, fue una tarde espectacular, el cielo estaba en todo su esplendor, la lluvia nos dió tregua unos días. Yo acababa de llegar del trabajo y recibí la llamada para la invitación, aunque estaba cansada no pude rechazarla pues era un lugar nuevo que aún no conocía, y la oportunidad de conocer sitios nuevos no la dejo escapar si está en mis manos.

Although the original idea of the community is to encourage and share encounters between Hivers living in Spain, posts about places in this beautiful country are also welcome. Maybe one of these places will be the site of one of the upcoming meetings in the community, who knows?

Anyway, this is my first publication in Hive-Spain, and what better way to make my debut than sharing one of the beautiful places that Vigo has to exercise or to take a walk in contact with nature.

The Park or Monte de la Guía, is an elevation that is located in the parish of Teis and can be seen from the center of Vigo, is located approximately 100 meters above sea level and at its summit there is a small church or chapel called, Ermita de Nuestra Señora de la Guía. Unfortunately it was not open when we went, in fact, I understand that they only open it on special occasions.

I did this walk a week ago with two friends, it was a spectacular afternoon, the sky was in all its splendor, the rain gave us a truce for a few days. I had just arrived from work and I received the call for the invitation, although I was tired I could not refuse it because it was a new place that I did not know yet, and the opportunity to see new places I do not let it escape if it is in my hands.

Para llegar a la Guía se puede ir en coche o en autobús, en este caso fuimos en el coche de mi amiga. El autobús te deja un poco retirado lo que te obliga a hacer una caminata de unos 10 minutos más o menos, pero en el camino ya tienes una bonita vista de la ría y también encuentras algunos antiguos cañones que supongo eran parte de la defensa contra las invasiones, también hay unas anclas de embarcaciones. En estos momentos el camino se encuentra en reformas, espero que quede muy bonito, ya les contaré cuando vuelva a visitar este lugar.

To get to the Guia you can go by car or by bus, in this case we went in my friend's car. The bus leaves you a little removed which forces you to make a walk of about 10 minutes or so, but on the way you already have a nice view of the estuary and also find some old cannons that I guess were part of the defense against invasions, there are also some boat anchors. At the moment the road is under renovation, I hope it will be very nice, I will tell you when I visit this place again.

Esta pequeña y acogedora casita de piedra es la oficina del guarda bosques de este lugar, no sé si también le sirva de residencia, a lo mejor si.

This small and cozy stone house is the office of the forest ranger of this place, I don't know if it also serves as his residence, maybe it does.

Desde este lugar donde me encuentro sentada, hay una espectacular vista a la Ría de Vigo, se pueden ver también las Islas Cíes y el puente de Rande que une Redondela y Moaña.

No sé si ustedes lo pueden percibir, pero en ese lugar se siente tanta paz que podría acostarme en ese muro y dormir la siesta. 😁

From this place where I am sitting, there is a spectacular view of the Ría de Vigo, you can also see the Cies Islands and the Rande bridge that connects Redondela and Moaña. 

I don't know if you can perceive it, but in that place you feel so much peace that I could lie down on that wall and take a nap. 😁

Hicimos un recorrido por todos los caminos alrededor de la montaña y encontramos estas piedras que formaban una puerta, así que nos dejamos llevar por la imaginación y la usamos como marcos para nuestras fotos. 😁

We took a tour of all the trails around the mountain and found these stones that formed a gate, so we let our imaginations run wild and used it as frames for our photos. 😁

En uno de los caminos encontramos un montículo de piedras, en su cima había un poste y en la punta una imagen de la virgen con Jesús en sus brazos y del otro lado Jesús en la cruz.

On one of the roads we found a mound of stones, on its top there was a post and at the top an image of the Virgin Mary with Jesus in her arms and on the other side Jesus on the cross.

Desde la carretera puedes recortar camino hacia la capilla por medio de estos estrechos caminos, todos te llevan a ella.

Según lo que leí, el nombre de la Guía fue dado porque antiguamente las mujeres esposas de los pescadores, prendían fogatas para guiar a sus maridos de regreso a tierra.

From the road you can cut your way to the chapel through these narrow paths, all leading to it. 

According to what I read, the name of the Guide was given because in the old days fishermen's wives used to light bonfires to guide their husbands back to land.  

En definitiva, este es un paseo que recomiendo a todo aquel que visite Vigo, ahora que sé como llegar en autobús, seguro que pronto lo estaré visitando nuevamente.

In short, this is a tour that I recommend to anyone visiting Vigo, now that I know how to get there by bus, I'm sure I'll be visiting it again soon.
