Ordinary Snapshots: After A Fevered Day

This ordinary day felt extra special to me.

‎After a long day of worrying about Ryzen because of his fever, seeing him slowly recover brought so much relief to my heart.
‎
‎These are the ordinary snapshots of our day.

‎Ryzen Wanted Rice With Kikiam And Hotdog
‎

‎Ryzen woke up and asked something that instantly made my heart smile. He wanted rice with kikiam and a hot dog. At that moment, it wasn't just a breakfast request, it was a sign that his appetite was slowly coming back after a day of fever. We went to the store right away, hoping to buy kikiam. Sadly, it wasn't available. So we went home and cooked what was already in our kitchen, which were hot dogs and eggs. My mother-in-law also gave us fruits that morning... lansones and dalandan. Ryzen didn't like them. So it's just Aiden and me who enjoyed it.

‎Go Outside And Play
‎

‎After breakfast, we didn't stay inside for long. The kids were already outside and playing. They ride their bikes and toy cars. It felt comforting to see Ryzen active again. Good thing they have their own bikes and toys now. No crying, no arguments.

‎Chicken Adobo Turned Into Chicken Afritada
‎

‎By lunchtime, because hubby wasn't at home, it was just me to cook while keeping an eye on the kids. I originally planned to cook chicken adobo, but as I reached for the soy sauce, we had none. So my plans change and adjust with what's available. So the adobo plan turned into chicken afritada. ☺️

‎Our Aunt Invited Us Over

‎When evening came, I was in the kitchen preparing our dinner. My phone suddenly buzzed. It was a message from my sister on Messenger, telling me that our aunt had invited us over. I told my hubby about it, and we agreed to go after dinner. Before heading to my aunt's place, we decided to stop by the night market first and bought peanuts. After that, we finally went to my aunt's house. To our surprise, they cooked dinner for everyone. Even though we had just eaten at home, the food looked too good to resist. Our stomachs also agreed that we can still eat. 🤣 So we ended up eating again. My aunt had also bought tequila for us. We played games, shared stories, and talked for hours. It turned into a fun evening.

‎And that's it.

‎It wasn't extraordinary, but it was meaningful.
‎
‎Sometimes, that's all a good day really needs.
