Visiting a park full of history, relaxation and art [eng/esp]

Hello friends of this beautiful community, today I'm joining our friend @tattoodjay's challenge to show you a very pleasant place with great historical significance.
As I strolled through the narrow, cobblestone streets of Old Havana, I came across a small park whose inviting greenery beckoned me to sit and rest.
This park, located at the intersection of Mercaderes and Obrapía streets, pays homage to the liberator of America, Simón Bolívar.
The beautiful statue of the hero welcomes us; it's a full-body bronze sculpture on a tall marble pedestal. We see Bolívar standing with a serene gaze that hints at concern. In his right hand, he holds a saber, and in his left, a rolled-up document.

The park is small but very wooded, ideal for resting in the shade of its trees while contemplating the beauty of the colonial buildings that surround it.
The presence of an old stone fountain that flows with water enriches the park with a very pleasant sound, which, combined with the breeze and shade, creates a perfect setting to relax from daily stress.
There is also a very colorful ceramic mural on one of its walls that adds a very pleasant touch.
Another mural made of wooden boxes represents the origin of this emblematic street, which gave rise to its name, because this is where the first merchants settled to sell the merchandise that came by ship to Havana Bay.

It is truly an ideal place for tasks that require concentration and serenity, as a young painter told me. He was immersed in a piece of work while displaying other paintings for everyone to see; ideal for those who want to take home a souvenir of folk art. He very kindly agreed to let me photograph him so that his picture could travel the world and showcase his work.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about this small but very welcoming park located in the historic center of Old Havana.
Happy and prosperous 2026.
See you soon!
