Hello, my fellow travelers!
Today I invite you on a very special tour, a route where history, art, and life blend in harmony. We will visit a city that elegantly resists the passage of time: Havana. On my blog, I always look for those authentic corners that give the city its soul, and today I want to share one of my favorites.

We begin our day at the San Salvador de la Punta Fortress. Standing in front of its old colonial cannons, which still point out to sea, makes me imagine the history lived by those men who defended the entrance to the bay.

The view from here is breathtaking. As the salty breeze caresses us, our gaze sweeps along the entire Havana seawall and, in front of it, El Morro, standing like a faithful guardian.

The visual harmony is fascinating: the military robustness of the fortress contrasts with the intense blue of the Caribbean Sea, and on the other side, the city displays its centuries-old architecture, where the ancient intertwines with the modern.

From this point, we enter the heart of Havana through the majestic Paseo del Prado. Here we are greeted by the life-size bronze statue of the poet Juan Clemente Zenea. He appears seated, accompanied by a female figure playing a lyre. His monument pays tribute to this great Romantic poet who also fought against the colonial yoke.

Flanked by imposing colonial buildings with their characteristic balconies and columns, the Prado is a true open-air museum. Walking through it is a delight for the senses. But the Prado is not just the past; it is pure life.
The wide white marble benches invite you to sit, and the polished granite floor reflects the silhouettes of the tree branches like a mirror, like an ephemeral and natural work of art.

Along the sides, local artists exhibit their paintings—from vibrant portraits to Cuban landscapes—and vendors sell souvenirs, from miniature vintage cars to classic guayaberas, an iconic garment that would make the perfect souvenir from this trip.

The atmosphere is calm and jovial. Children are playing and laughing, young people gracefully gliding on skates and smilingly dodging passersby… It's this contagious tranquility, this simple enjoyment of a public space, that makes this place feel so authentic and welcoming.

Our route leads us to Central Park. There, the majestic architecture of the colonial buildings competes in splendor with the golden dome of the National Capitol, which shines in its original splendor. In front of them, the lush nature of the park's gardens, with their royal palms and flowering trees, offers a tropical visual spectacle.

And, as if that weren't enough, we see vintage cars driving by, those American cars from the 1950s that still roll through our streets. Watching an imposing antique automobile pass in front of the perfectly restored facade of a 1920s hotel is a simply enchanting experience.

This walk is not only explored with the feet, but with the soul, enjoying every step in total harmony with history. Every corner is an unforgettable postcard, a unique experience that will remain etched in your memory forever.

Armonía en La Habana: historia, arte y vida

Hoy los invito a un recorrido muy especial, una ruta donde la historia, el arte y la vida se funden en armonía.
Visitaremos una ciudad que se resiste con elegancia al paso del tiempo: La Habana. En mi blog siempre busco esos rincones auténticos que dotan de alma a la ciudad, y hoy quiero compartir uno de mis favoritos.

Comenzamos nuestra jornada en la Fortaleza de San Salvador de la Punta. Al pararme frente a sus viejos cañones coloniales, que aún apuntan al mar, me hace imaginar la historia vivida por aquellos hombres que defendían la entrada de la bahía. La vista desde aquí es impresionante, mientras la brisa salada nos acaricia, nuestra mirada recorre todo el malecón habanero y al frente, El Morro, erguido como guardián fiel.

La armonía visual es fascinante: la robustez militar de la fortaleza contrasta con el azul intenso del mar Caribe y, hacia el otro lado, la ciudad nos muestra su arquitectura centenaria, donde lo antiguo dialoga con lo moderno.

Desde este punto, nos adentramos en el corazón de La Habana a través del majestuoso Paseo del Prado. Aquí nos recibe la estatua del poeta Juan Clemente Zenea, fundido en bronce y a tamaño natural. Aparece sentado, acompañado de una figura femenina que tañe una lira. Su monumento rinde homenaje a este gran poeta romántico que también luchó contra el yugo colonial.

Flanqueado por imponentes edificios coloniales con sus característicos balcones y columnas, el Prado es un auténtico museo al aire libre. Caminar por él es un deleite para los sentidos. Pero el Prado no es solo pasado; es vida pura. Los amplios bancos de mármol blanco invitan a sentarse, y el suelo de granito pulido refleja como un espejo las siluetas de las ramas de los árboles, es como una obra de arte efímera y natural.

A los lados, artistas locales exhiben sus pinturas —desde retratos vibrantes hasta paisajes cubanos— y vendedores ofrecen souvenirs, desde miniaturas de coches antiguos hasta las clásicas guayaberas, una prenda icónica que sería el recuerdo perfecto de este paseo.

El ambiente es tranquilo y jovial. Hay niños jugando y riendo, jóvenes deslizándose en patines con gracia y esquivando sonrientes a los transeúntes… Es esa tranquilidad contagiosa, ese disfrute simple de un espacio público, lo que hace que este lugar se sienta tan auténtico y acogedor.

Nuestro rumbo nos lleva hasta desembocar en el Parque Central. Ahí, la majestuosa arquitectura de los edificios coloniales compite en esplendor con la dorada cúpula del Capitolio Nacional, que brilla con su esplendor original.

Frente a ellos, la naturaleza exuberante de los jardines del parque, con sus palmas reales y árboles florecidos, ofrece un espectáculo visual tropical.

Y, como si fuera poco, vemos circular los autos antiguos, esos coches americanos de los años 50 que aún ruedan por nuestras calles. Ver un imponente automóvil antiguo pasar frente a la fachada perfectamente restaurada de un hotel de 1920 es una experiencia simplemente encantadora.

Este paseo no solo se recorre con los pies, sino con el alma, se disfruta cada paso en total armonía con la historia. Cada rincón es una postal inolvidable, una experiencia única que queda grabada en la memoria para siempre.
