Splinterlands Art Contest: Week 201 - Lyanna Natura

Hi all, greetings.

Today, I am sharing with you my new digital painting for Splinterlands art contest. This is the week 201 and I chose to create this character which is known as Lyanna Natura.

This character is believed to have many powers. She has the ability to communicate well with animals and the power of summoning.

Well, after creating this character, I would comfortably say I have learnt a lot and I am already eager to start a new one. This painting was done with AutoDesk sketchbook and aided with an S-pen.

Here are my detailed steps by step processes below:

The first step was to generate the concept. After that, I started making outline sketch of it and adjusted areas where needed. I used 'Dream Brush' for this.

After the outline sketch, I started adding shades using scribbles. This will enable me identifying areas where light falls and where there are shades. I used 'Paint Tapered' brush for this.

Thereafter, I started blocking in with a brush that gives a shadow effect known as 'Medium Tip Marker'.

After being satisfied, I added a background colors to it. This was done using 'Wet Frayed Brush'.

After being satisfied with the background, I moved to the body of the work. I first worked on her hairs, then moved to her skin tones applying various colors with the use of 'Medium Tip Marker'.

Now I colored her eyes and painted her lips red. I worked on her flower designs as well.

Finally, I added a blue color to her gown and made some finishing touches.
