Liu Kang - From Mortal Kombat

Hi all, happy weekend.

20230327_123949.jpg

Here is my new pen drawing.
It's a sketch of the major characters in a renowned movie series dated back in 1995 called Mortal Kombat. His stage name is Liu Kang while his real name is Robin Shou.

It's a movie I grew up to enjoy watching. I also played the video game where I normally use him or Jax to fight. The ultimate goal was to eliminate all opponents, go up and win Shau Kahn, the emperor of the fictional realm Outworld and become the Ultimate champion.

This drawing was done with a blue ballpoint pen on a cardboard paper. My Steps are below:

I have not seen the Mortal Kombat movie so far, but I played some of the Mortal Kombat video games. Mortal Kombat 1-2-3-4 from the 1990s. Mostly the Mortal Kombat 2 on MS-DOS. I also played Mortal Kombat 9 on a Windows PC a few years ago. There are newer Mortal Kombat episodes too, but I have not played them so far.

Oh really?
I first played mine with a video game called "Sega" before playing it with Playstation 2. I never tried it with Window PC.

Liu Kang was the first tournament winner in the franchise. Little did we know then, that the lore behind it would explode and the story of outworld would be so much better than anything in Marvel. The movies never did the story justice, but the latest video game is bringing out a lot of the lore. Maybe one day, we'll get the movie we deserve.

Hehe, anyway, I still loved and enjoyed the movie then, probably because I was naive and didn't bother much about the storyline. Actions were my interest😄

It came out at a time where martial arts films were pretty popular. One I really liked around the same time was Iron Monkey. Speaking of, I have not seen you draw many ninjas. Just sayin'.

They are pleasant memories that come to our mind and never disappear, brought from the cinema or from texts, the same thing happens to me and to you more when you make sketches of your main characters from a series of renowned films, from 1995, called Mortal Kombat, what a good friend, his memories are fantastic, in this case his stage name is Liu Kang, while his real name is Robin Shou. I congratulate you, from a distance we have the same tastes since our youth, my case is with Superman the man of steel and with Bruce Lee the great martial arts fighter. successes. Thank you for your visits to my post.

Yes, they are great memories especially the video game aspect. We will remember we did play them during our teens.

Bruce Lee? Haha, I loved him and enjoyed his moves. I later switched my administration to Jackie Chan after Bruce was gone. For those Superhero characters, the memories are always fresh in me especially Spider-Man. I might consider sketching some of them in few days to come.

When you draw them, it will bring back many memories of childhood and adolescence, remember I am 70 years old, how old are you? Thanks for your quick response. Successes
