Drawing A Lion

From my animal series, I present to you my new pen drawing of a lion, believed to be the king of the jungle.

The creature has it's eyes focused at a particular spot...probably targeting a prey.

The piece was done with AutoDesk sketchbook application using scribble style. You can see my steps below:

I am glad it is not eyeing me as I fear I might be perceived as a juicy morsel by the king of the jungle.

I really like lions too. Stoic. Strong. Benevolent. Regal. Great creatures to capture in a moment in time. Makes me emotional.

Wow man, this technique is great. I imagine that it takes some practice and mastery to do it, because anyone could do a doodle instead of a work of art like the one you share with us today.

Yeah, it's been years I started practicing with scribbles. Making a doodle is not the problem; it's about getting the actual forms, texture and shape of your subject.
