Wondering again where time is gone πŸ‘ΉπŸ£πŸŽŽ My Japan

It's no longer a secret to me that the days go by faster and faster as I get older. As I am no longer one of the youngsters and have now moved up (or down?) into a completely different league in terms of age, I have long since realized that not only the days, but also the weeks, months and years go by far too quickly. As soon as the new year begins, you're we are already wondering why it's March again and spring has started. And before you know it, summer is already over and you start preparing for the next winter. And the upcoming Christmas planning finally makes it clear to the last of us that this year has hurried far too much again.

Of course, we realize that time passes just as quickly or slowly as it used to. Since the dawn of time, a day has always been the same length, even if our feelings lead us to believe otherwise. But feelings are not to be trifled with, and reality should have understood that long ago. And that's exactly why I keep asking myself where all the time has gone. In the past, I could hardly wait for the weekend to finally arrive, whereas today I tend to ponder whether I could have done something more meaningful with the week just gone.

To be honest, I don't like that feeling. I'd rather have too much time and have to think about what to do with it than suddenly have nothing left. In the end, life is clearly far too short, even if at times it seems far too long and far too slow. I'm not always sure how to make the best and most sensible use of life, even though I try to. The problem is that we spend far too much time trying to survive rather than living life the right way. And it's not always possible to combine the two perfectly. Unfortunately, we are very often busy dealing with our many tasks and worries, which often leave us far too little time and space to engage with what is happening around us, but which would benefit us much more.

Of course, you could start talking about all the compromises that are part of life, but sometimes you just don't feel like it. All or nothing may not always be the best motto, but every now and then you should simply take the side you feel drawn to. In such cases, you should let your fingers rest and close your eyes for a moment. And then listen to the beautiful song that is being performed around you and just feel good and at ease...
