Why can't I stop taking pictures? šŸ‘¹šŸ£šŸŽŽ Wonderful Japan

Why do I actually take so many photos? A good question, to which, as usual, there is no easy answer. But when I look at how many photos have accumulated on my hard drive, I should perhaps start to investigate this question a bit. At least I should make a first attempt to get a little closer to the answer.

Let's take today's pictures and have a closer look at them. What had I captured here and for what reason? For this I must think back briefly and put myself back to that very day. We were on the way to an event in which our little one should participate and since the weather had been so wonderful, we had taken the route there on foot. The sky was bright blue and not a single cloud was to be seen, when before my eyes this small tower suddenly appeared. It was enthroned on an old building, which did not really fit into the Japanese scenery around us. I guess that was exactly what attracted my attention, which immediately prompted me to pull out the camera I had brought with me. Maybe I spontaneously had the thought to include this scene later in a blog post, for which I can always use some interesting pictures. Of course, I still have a lot of photos in stock, which might be even more interesting and exciting than the pictures today. But maybe it's a subconscious reflex that makes me frantically look for new scenes that I can talk about later at this place here.

Most of the time I take not only one picture but quite a few more, because the good thing about digital cameras is that you can always delete photos later without any problems. In earlier times, every single picture was associated with extra costs, and who would want to waste an entire film on just one object! Many people who are cruising here on the blockchain are probably not even aware of this problem. Times have changed, and of course not only in terms of photography. But today, almost everyone has their smartphone with them everywhere and at all times, and are therefore able to record everything around them for later. And since it is not only me who enjoys doing this a lot, I'm not the only one who is busy taking pictures. Family-related I have fortunately quite excellent and wonderful motifs, but which will not make it here for private reasons.

In addition to the idea that I could use all the scenes in front of me in later blog posts, I also want to capture and preserve all what I've experienced. And since unfortunately we cannot stop the time yet, I just take photos, with which I want to at least keep the images in front of my eyes for later. And every now and then I also manage to capture a little of the atmosphere around me, which especially here in Japan is often not difficult at all. Besides all the modernity, there is so much past, history and exotica to see, and to which I have perhaps not yet become accustomed. Why else am I always so excited, even though I have seen similar scenes many times before? Or do I enjoy life so much that I want to savor every moment not just once, but several times? Life goes by much too fast, all the moments, days, weeks and years that have already passed and that I just don't want to forget. Sometimes we need a little help, and why not take photos of everything! I love to rejoice in past experiences and pictures and revel in the past. And my beating heart indicates to me over and over again that I have done a lot of things right and that I have often lived just the right way. Although, of course there is always a large pinch of melancholy, which has accompanied me all my life, and which gets really spurred on and motivated by all the photos I have taken.

But certainly I also realize that I have too many pictures and I try to delete them regularly. It's a good thing that there's only limited storage space on my smartphone and that it's already close to the limit. Sometimes you have to delete photos right away, even before they make it to your hard drive. And even there I still manage to sort them out, especially if they are pictures that I have immortalized here in a blog post. Pictures with people are a different story, and I'd better not get started talking about all the children's pictures that have found their way onto my hard discs. Of course, they are all unique, you have to believe me!

But well, I think I haven't really found the answer to the question of why I take so many photos yet. But perhaps I have come a little closer and have at least been able to question myself a little in this respect. The analysis is far from over but at least we have made a start. I am quite sure that in the near future I will continue to wave my camera around more or less spontaneously and try to capture the sometimes more and sometimes less exciting scenes in front of me. As i said before, at least I'm having fun, so maybe that should be enough of a reason for me to do it.

And that's exactly why there will be new pictures and impressions from the Land of the Rising Sun for you to enjoy on a regular basis, which hopefully will also arouse some interest in this interesting country here in the Far East. So please check back here soon to check out what there is to see....
