Time to (finally) sleep πΉπ£π Wonderful Japan
Lately I've been plagued by a rather familiar problem. I can't sleep!
Unfortunately, this is nothing new, but of course that doesn't help me either. A good night's sleep is simply essential and therefore too important to give in to this problem, since the next morning always proves to me that I haven't slept enough.
Fortunately, I usually manage to get through the day quite well, but I can still feel that I'm lacking a lot of energy - both mentally and physically.
Of course, I've tried to work on this problem several times and sometimes I've managed to sleep better. But then, unfortunately, there are always times when you fall back into old patterns, which are inevitably punished. Falling asleep, sleeping through the night and sleeping in - sometimes all three are a problem and that's something that really worries me.
Of course, I now know what the reasons for this might be. One reason is definitely that I'm often busy until shortly before bedtime. And that I'm sitting in front of the screen, which strains my head and eyes, which should be relaxing by now. But unfortunately there's often no other option, I don't get to a lot of things until quite late and they still need to be done as well. There's simply not enough time to switch off, at least on some days.
And my latest project will probably demand my full attention too, although I will try to focus my attention mainly during the day. Maybe I'll manage to finish work a little earlier in the evening and switch off the screen a little sooner. And it's probably also time for a little news detox. I've tried it before and to be honest, it did me some good.
What I don't know doesn't bother me!This motto cannot be emphasized enough and we should all stick to it from time to time at least. The news that we are bombarded with day in, day out usually don't help us get a good night's sleep. On the contrary, they make us even less likely to rest and often ensure that we are preoccupied for a long time with things that we shouldn't be dealing with just before we go to sleep.
Understanding is the first step towards improvement - and I have now taken that step. Let's see if I'll take the next step too and eventually go all the way. At least I've resolved to go to bed a little earlier. I might not fall asleep straight away, but at least I'll have a little more time to calm down.
Fortunately, it's not that warm yet, at least at night. The nights are actually still quite pleasant, but that will soon change. Summer is just around the corner, which means the weather will be completely different to what we've experiencing now. But that's a topic I don't want to deal with today. I'll save that for another day.
For now, I hope that we all get a good night's sleep today. And that we are all able to tackle tomorrow with fresh energy and a cheerful spirit. On that note, I'll say goodbye for today and wish you all a good night...
