Some more bamboo please =/= Noch ein wenig Bambus 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER

A few days ago, I showed you some wonderful dishes you can make with bamboo shoots. We had tosani—braised bamboo shoots— and also bamboo rice and bamboo miso soup, which all tasted absolutely delicious. What a shame that these goodies are only available once a year, right around this season.

But anyway, I don’t want to complain here. To finish things off, we used the rest of the bamboo for a dish that we tried for the very first time. The soaked bamboo was cut into small pieces and covered in some karaage-ko. This is a seasoning and breading mix used specifically for making karaage, or Japanese fried chicken.

The whole thing was fried in oil, and what can I say—it also tasted excellent. I then made a special effort to restrain myself and didn’t eat it all. So that I can try this delicacy again next next day.

Because, as I said, the next time will be a long time coming. But that’s okay; I’m sure we’ll find something else delicious to eat...

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich euch bereits gezeigt, was man aus Bambussprossen so alles zaubern kann. Wir hatten bereits Tosani, also geschmorten Bambus. Dazu Bambusreis und Bambusmisosuppe, was wir wieder einmal vorzüglig geschmeckt hat. Wie schade, dass es diese Köstlichkeiten nur einmal im Jahr gibt, zu eben dieser Jahreszeit.

Aber gut, ich will mich hier gar nicht beschweren. Denn zum Abschluss haben wir mit den Bambusresten noch ein neues Gericht ausprobiert. Der eingeweichte Bambus wurde kleingeschnitten mit Karaage-ko paniert. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Würz- und Paniermehl, das speziell für die Zubereitung von Karaage, also japanischem frittiertem Hühnchen verwendet wird.

Das Ganze wurde in Öl gebraten und was soll ich sagen - es hat wieder einmal ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Ich habe mich dann extra zusammengerissen und nicht alles aufgegessen. Damit ich am nächsten noch einmal von dieser Köstlichkeit probieren kann.

Denn wie gesagt, das nächste Mal wird auf sich warten lassen. Aber das macht nicht, ich bin mir sicher, wir werden was anderes leckeres zu essen finden...
