Bear or hornet - which scares you more? =/= Bär oder Hornisse - was macht dir mehr Angst? 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER
At first glance, Japan is safe and secure, even for foreign visitors, and you can move around the country without having to worry. But if you delve a little deeper into the country and life here in the Far East, you realize that sometimes you should better be a little more careful.
Well, if you stay on the familiar paths and move along with the rest of the tourist caravan, not much harm or suffering can actually happen to you. But off these paths, you are quickly reminded that you should at least keep your eyes open and use your common sense.
On my excursions through the country, I have repeatedly come across various signs warning visitors of potential dangers. And I have noticed that there are two representatives of the animal world in particular that are warned about everywhere. In most cases, the signs point out that you should beware of either bears or hornets, which have made themselves at home in this area.
Well, the question of the respective danger is perhaps quickly answered, especially as you wouldn't want to encounter a bear in the wild. But the chance of encountering hornets is significantly greater, and the respective risk must be taken into account.
I find and see hornets more and more often now, but luckily you can avoid them and they usually leave you alone if you don't get too close. I wouldn't be so sure about a bear and wouldn't want to try the whole thing out.
I'd rather listen to the warnings and take them seriously. With hornets, I stay on the paths and try not to disturb the nature around me. And in the case of bears, I might decide not to go on that particular hike and choose a different destination. In an emergency, you can't run that fast and I guess you still have to practice climbing as well.
In both cases, keep your eyes open and use your brain. Then you should continue to travel safely through the land of the rising sun. Same goes for me, as I still have a lot planned there in the future as well....

Auf dem ersten Blick ist es in Japan auch für den fremden Besucher sicher und ungefährlich und man kann sich ohne Sorgen haben zu müssen, durch das Land bewegen. Aber wenn man ein wenig tiefer eindringt in Land und Leben hier im Fernen Osten, kann man doch allerorten feststellen, dass man ab und zu doch besser etwas vorsichtig sein sollte.
Nun ja, wenn man auf den bekannten Wegen bleibt, auf denen der Rest der Touristenkarawane entlang zieht, kann einem eigentlich nicht viel Unbill und Leid passieren. Doch abseits dieser Wege wird man schnell darauf hingewiesen, dass man zumindest die Augen aufhalten und den eigenen gesunden Menschenverstand benutzen sollte.
Auf meinen Ausflügen durch das Land bin ich dabei immer wieder auf verschiedene Schilder gestossen, die den Besucher auf eventuelle Gefahren hinweisen. Und dabei ist mir aufgefallen, dass es vor allem zwei Vertreter des Tierreiches sind, vor denen immer und überall gewarnt wird. Meist weisen die Schilder darauf hin, dass man sich entweder vor Bären oder vor Hornissen in Acht nehmen soll, welche es sich in dieser Gegend gemütlich gemacht haben.
Nun ja, die Frage nach der jeweiligen Gefährlichkeit ist vielleicht schnell beantwortet, vor allem einem Bären möchte man in freier Wildbahn nun überhaupt nicht begegnen. Aber die Chance auf Hornissen zu treffen, ist dann doch bedeutend größer, und das jeweilige Risko gilt es dann doch zu beachten.
Hornissen finde und sehe ich nun immer häufiger, aber zum Glück kann man diesen ausweichen und miest lassen sie einen, wenn man ihnen nicht zu nahe kommt, dann auch in Ruhe. Bei einem Bären wäre ich mir da nicht so sicher und möchte das Ganze dann auch nicht gerne ausprobieren.
Lieber höre ich dann doch auf die Warnungen und nehme sie ernst. Bei Hornissen bleibe ich auf den Wegen und versuche die Natur um mich herum nicht zu stören. Und bei Bären verzichte ich dann eventuell dann auch mal auf eine Wanderung und nehme mir ein anderes Ziel vor. So schnell kann man im Ernstfall gar nicht rennen, und die Sache mit dem Klettern muss auch noch geübt werden.
In diesem Sinne gilt in beiden Fällen, Augen auf und den eigenen Kopf benutzen. Dann sollte man auch weiterhin sicher durch das Land der aufgehende Sonne komme. Denn dort habe ich auch zukünftig noch so einiges vor....
