The Ultimate Weeding Routine Before Final Maize 🌽🌽 Harvest || Farmer's Routine To Excellent Season Performance
Hello Hivers 💕💘,
- In agricultural mindset we need to follow what is called guidelines and rules to achieve our aims and objective which are mainly for production are also for good growth and development. No matter what the situation is we must learn to make sure that our planted crops are well taking care of by always weeding it regularly. Although as individual farmers we may not have the same time or busy schedules but all the same we must always find time to make sure that we keep them clean and you must also be observant. There are so many farmers that they do not bother what's going on on their Farm except when its just harvesting time when they have no record of what is going on at all on their Farm, which will bring negative results at the end. A very crucial part of the farm activities is the weeding aspect. Where you need to cover up so many grounds in order to make sure that you expose your already planted crop into a very good atmosphere for good photosynthesis and food production. I went to the farm to do the light weeding and I took some pictures.
It is never an easy task to be a farmer but you need to gradually learn how it is been done so as for you to progress day in and day out. When I started learning from my late dad it was hell on Earth. For those who actually have those parents who where properly brought up with a very tough hands, so you need to follow their own rules and regulations even when you are an adult. My dad was a principal of a school before he died so he was a principled man. You have to do this and that even when you are on the farm.
- When I got to the farm within just few days, the weed has gone so wild such that the competition between the weed and the crops which are mainly maize and okra are unsuitable. So I needed to act fast on the weeding to bring back the maize 🌽🌽 territory to.
The reading was done manually and this has been one of the old method of making sure that what you already planted is on a very clean environment. We have so many ways you can do this as ID using the old method. You can use what is called machinery for weeding. It is allowed.
Sometimes you use the hoe and cutlass to fit in into this category. When we were growing up we always go to the farm with our own farm tools which will make us a very good farmer this were part of my dad rules and regulation. As individual of coming we always have our own individual store we keep our Farm tools. I am working on having a very big fan which in that way I will also be involved in Farm machineries.
Proper methods and techniques of approach is highly necessary. You must also be on time when doing your weeding. You must not postpone this Farm activity at all or your reward will be less addressed at the end of the farming season. You can weed your farm every 4 weeks during the dry season but during the rainy season you can weed your farm every week. Because of the constant rainfall.
- The Old method of cleaning up your farm can also be adopted into your own farm legacy too but you need to start light weeding so as for you to get proper use to it usage. It is not too hard but it has its own skills and techniques of usage.
- Depending on your own individual capacity you can start your wedding yourself but if you observe that you can not handle the situation yourself you can hire some extra labourers. At the end of the work done you pay them. But as for me I do my own weeding as you can see it.
Getting more results from your planted crops is your own priority, so you need to cover up and expose them into a very good atmosphere. This has also been solutions to many problems on the farm. Exposing you're planted crops such as Yam, Coconut, Sugarcane, Maize, Plantain, Cowpea, Groundnut, vegetables, etc
- You must also have a perfect joy in what you do. Always you may find the regular routine us a very hard job to do but you must not reflect the negativity to yourself. You always see me putting smile on my face even when things are not too smooth. This is to encourage people that life is not too hard but you need to take it slowly and one step at a time.

Just like we were taught in my school, you just did a form of cultural practices of controlling weed.
You have really tried, I knew how I a always try to avoid going to farm for practical courses. But I could not because our lecturers doesn't even like indiscipline.
I can say farming will inculcate lots of beautiful values in you as you do it steadily. Values like patience and discipline.
Thanks for sharing sir.
