Una Zanahoria con Sombrero / A Carrot with a Hat
Una zanahoria va caminando
tranquila y a su paso,
cuando ve un espejo cercano
y se entusiasma, quiere ver su peinado
y se acerca de inmediato .
Observa con atención su reflejo
y descubre que le falta pelo,
yo le regaló un lindo sombrero
para que se cubra el poco cabello
y vaya a buscar como solucionar su aspecto.
A carrot is walking along
calmly and at its own pace,
when it sees a mirror nearby
and gets excited,it wants to see its hairstyle
and goes over right away.
It looks closely at its reflection
and discovers it’s missing some hair,
so I gave it a nice hat
to cover what little hair it has
and help it figure out how to fix its appearance.
La zanahoria sale afanada
y atraviesa senderos con ansias,
no se detiene para nada
y llega a una zona lejana,
dónde hay tierra bien abonada.
Sobre esta se sienta
y entierra sus piernas
su cuerpo recuesta
y ahí quieta se queda,
hasta que la noche llega.
The carrot sets off eagerly
and crosses paths with eagerness,
stopping for nothing,
until it reaches a distant place,
where the soil is well fertilized.
It sits down on the soil,
buries its legs,
leans back,
and stays there still,
until night falls.
Pasa la noche con tranquilidad,
hasta que el sol vuelve a brillar
la zanahoria se levanta, feliz está
y se quita el sombrero para comprobar
que le creció cabello de un largo sin igual.
El tubérculo se siente contento
y regresa a su aposento
lleva un nuevo cabello,
largo, verde y bello,
ahora ya no necesita el sombrero.
The night passes peacefully,
until the sun shines again.
The carrot wakes up, happy,
and takes off its hat to see
that it has grown hair of unparalleled length.
The carrot feels happy
and returns to its room,
wearing its new hair,
long, green, and beautiful.
Now it no longer needs its hat.
