Una Servilleta Manchada / A Stained Napkin

Un día estaba preparando un café,
mezclando el agua para que quede bien,
la cuchara a un lado dejé
sobre una servilleta que blanca es.

La cuchara mojó la servilleta
y quedó una mancha fresca,
ahí nació una mirada bella
que asustó a un galleta que estaba cerca.

One day I was making coffee,
stirring the water just right,
I set the spoon aside
on a white napkin.

The spoon wet the napkin
and left a fresh stain,
and there a beautiful gaze was born
that startled a cookie that was nearby.

La galleta tras el plato se escondió
y a la servilleta una idea se le ocurrió,
una sonrisa en ella apareció
y también unas cejas de un ser bonachón.

La galleta al ver su transformación,
el miedo atrás dejó,
la servilleta por fin se acercó
y un lado de su cabeza mordió.

The cookie hid behind the plate,
and an idea occurred to the napkin,
a smile appeared on its face,
along with the eyebrows of a good-natured being.

When the cookie saw its transformation,
it left its fear behind,
and the napkin finally approached
and took a bite out of one side of its head.

No contenta con esto,
mordió el otro lado para terminar el proceso,
la galleta quedó con un pico bello
y entendió que fue un cambio bueno.

En agradecimiento aquella galleta
impulsa a la servilleta
para que suba a la taza que está cerca
y pueda teñirse completa.

Not satisfied with that,
it bit into the other side to finish the process,
leaving the cookie with a beautiful beak,
and it realized it was a good change.

In gratitude, that cookie
gives the napkin a nudge
so it can climb onto the nearby cup
and get completely stained.
