Una planta gigante / A giant plant
Tengo una planta pequeña
de hojas bien puestas,
en la mesa permanece quieta,
mientras el amanecer llega.
Temprano me levanto
y quiero ducharme para salir un rato,
llevo la planta y la dejo a un lado,
no quiero que se hidrate demasiado.
I have a small plant
with well placed leaves,
on the table it stays still,
while the dawn comes.
Early I get up
and want to take a shower to go out for a while,
I take the plant and put it aside,
I don't want it to get too hydrated.
Me ducho un rato
y cuando salgo quedo aterrado,
la planta se ha agrandado,
ha crecido exagerado.
Tomo mi pantalón
y con afán me voy,
lo dejó por un día con preocupación,
no se que haré con un ser de esa dimensión.
I take a shower for a while
and when I come out I am terrified,
the plant has enlarged,
has grown exaggerated.
I take my pants
and with eagerness I leave,
left it for a day with concern,
I don't know what I will do with a being of that dimension.
Cuando amanece regreso al baño
y tomo mi planta con encanto,
con fuerza la arrastro,
lo quiero llevar a otro lado.
Busco un gran terreno
y ahí con respeto lo dejó,
le digo que volveré en algún momento,
para darle suplementos.
When dawn comes I return to the bathroom
and take my plant with charm,
with strength I drag it,
I want to take it somewhere else.
I look for a large plot of land
and there with respect I leave it,
I tell it that I will be back sometime,
to give it supplements.
Cuando regreso me sorprendo,
la planta sigue creciendo,
parece que se junta con el cielo
y su tronco es rugoso y grueso.
Una pequeña planta que cuidaba
creció de forma exagerada,
tomó demasiada agua
y se convirtió en una obra magna.
When I return I am surprised,
the plant continues to grow,
seems to meet the sky
and its trunk is rough and thick.
A small plant that I cared for
grew in an exaggerated way,
took too much water
and became a masterpiece.
