Una planta en la Luna / A plant on the Moon
Encontré la Luna en oferta,
con un descuento que bueno era
la compré, no podía perderla
y llegué con ella a casa contenta.
La dejé sobre el sofá,
para que no se vaya a dañar,
es una pieza sin igual,
un astro que todos quisieran a casa llevar.
I found the Moon on sale,
with such a great discount
that I bought it—I couldn’t pass it up,
and I came home happy with it.
I set it down on the sofa,
so it wouldn’t get damaged,
it’s a one-of-a-kind piece,
a celestial body everyone would love to have at home.
No sé cómo la debo cuidar
y traigo agua para hidratar su faz,
el líquido bien le hará
y la dejó, para que pueda descansar.
Tomó un libro que tengo en la sala
y me pongo a leer con ansias,
el tiempo rápido pasa
y en la Luna algo cambia.
I don’t know how to take care of her,
so I bring water to moisturize her face,
the liquid will do her good,
and I leave her be so she can rest.
I picked up a book I have in the living room
and began reading eagerly,
time flies by,
and something changes on the Moon.
Me acerco para revisarla,
le ha crecido una planta,

I step closer to take a look,
a plant has grown on it,
how strange, I thought that didn’t happen,
and it has leaves on its grayish surface.
The moon shouldn't be locked away,
I set it free so it can go up to the sky,
I bought it, I felt sorry for it,
and now I know it won't be alone, a plant keeps it company.
Luna bonita que en el cielo estás,
nunca me vayas a olvidar,
te di agua para hidratar tu faz
y te creció una planta de verdad
que ahora te acompaña en la eternidad.
Beautiful moon up in the sky,
never forget me,
I gave you water to nourish your face,
and a real plant grew from it,
