Una papa comedida / The modest potato
Una papa parda permanecía sentada,
en un sofá de la sala,
estaba comiendo pan de masa blanca
hasta que lo dejó caer sin causa
y el piso quedó lleno de migajas.
La papa se levanta del sofá
y lo corre para debajo limpiar,
toma una escoba que cerca está
y descubre que en ella una culebra hay,
la toma y la pone en otro lugar.
A brown potato remained seated
on a sofa in the living room,
eating white bread
until it dropped it for no reason
and the floor was covered with crumbs.
The potato gets up from the sofa
and pushes it aside to clean up,
takes a broom that is nearby
and discovers that there is a snake in it,
picks it up and puts it somewhere else.
Deja el animal sobre la mesa
y se va a barrer la casa entera,
la suciedad no espera
y la papa lo sabe de sobremanera,
por eso es responsable con la limpieza.
La culebra no se queda donde la dejan,
busca un lugar que la sostenga,
sobre un globo se trepa
y en este se queda,
pensando que no notarán su presencia.
Leave the animal on the table
and go sweep the entire house,
dirt doesn't wait
and the potato knows this very well,
which is why it is responsible for cleaning.
The snake doesn't stay where it is left,
it looks for a place to hold on to,
it climbs onto a balloon
and stays there,
thinking that no one will notice its presence.
Cuando la papa regresa a la habitación
no ve a la culebra donde la dejó
y al mirar a su alrededor,
la ve en el globo sin complicación
y le causa gracia está situación.
La serpiente quiere estar escondida
y la papa le ayuda con esta medida

When the potato returns to the room,
it doesn't see the snake where it left it,

The snake wants to be hidden,

letting go of the balloon with joy,
and the animal quickly moves away,
happy to find a hiding place in the air.
