Una oreja de madera / A wooden ear

Llega un gato nostálgico
porque perdió su oreja hace un rato,
él se agachó para ver algo
y la oreja se desprendió sin reparo,
es así como la oreja a extraviado.

Al verlo me acerco y le hablo
le aseguro que puedo ayudarlo,
las lágrimas seco con mi mano
y me marcho,
asegurando que volveré en un rato.

A nostalgic cat arrives
because he lost his ear a while ago.
He bent down to look at something,
and his ear came off without warning.
That's how he lost his ear.

When I see him, I approach and speak to him,
assuring him that I can help him.
I dry his tears with my hand
and leave,
promising that I will return in a little while.

Regreso con un tronco,
que tenía guardado hace poco,
es pesado, pero puedo con todo,
mientras el gato me mira misterioso,
sin entender que sucede en su entorno.

El tronco es un material resistente
y un triángulo cortó habilmente,
le doy forma delicadamente,
hasta que una oreja parece
y se la pongo al gato amablemente.

I return with a log,
which I had stored away recently.
It's heavy, but I can handle it,
while the cat looks at me mysteriously,
not understanding what's happening around him.

The log is a sturdy material,
and a triangle is skillfully cut out.
I shape it delicately,
until it looks like an ear,
and I kindly put it on the cat.

El gato no está convencido,
no siente que se vea bonito,
el grosor es distinto
y parece un ángulo de 45,
pero yo le mostraré que se ve divino.

Busco un espejo
y con cariño se lo llevo,
le pido que se mire sin miedo
y el descubre que se ve perfecto
y se marcha con su oreja de madera contento.

The cat isn't convinced,
he doesn't think it looks nice,
the thickness is different
and it looks like a 45-degree angle,
but I'll show him that it looks divine.

I look for a mirror
and lovingly bring it to him,
I ask him to look without fear
and he discovers that he looks perfect
and leaves with his wooden ear, happy.
