Una magnífica idea / A great idea
La Luna bajó una tarde,
sin pedir permiso a nadie
entre los arbustos caminó intrigante
y siguió por la senda sin afanes.
Llegó hasta la cocina,
de una pequeña casa vacía
revisó lo que sobre la mesa había
y se le ocurrió una idea magnífica.
The moon came down one afternoon,
without asking anyone's permission.
It walked intriguingly among the bushes
and continued along the path without haste.
It reached the kitchen
of a small empty house,
checked what was on the table,
and came up with a magnificent idea.
Un redondo tomate tomó
y con delicadeza lo arrastró
no quiere dañar su roja coloración
y por la ciudad con el fruto caminó.
Cuando llegó el anochecer,
la Luna se elevó con sencillez
tomó el tomate y se fue,
el universo necesita al astro y su brillantez

and gently carried it along,
not wanting to damage its red color,

Llegó hasta su hogar
el universo la esperaba con celeridad
la Luna mordisqueó el tomate con afán,
para que pareciera un astro de verdad.
Cuando terminó la Luna se marchó,
quiere viajar con determinación
por eso un reemplazo inventó
y una Luna menguante con el tomate creó.
She arrived home.
The universe awaited her eagerly.
The moon eagerly nibbled on the tomato,
so that it would look like a real star.
When she finished, the moon left.
She wants to travel with determination,
so she invented a replacement
and created a waning moon with the tomato.
Una idea magnífica se le ocurrió
a la Luna cuando los tomates vio,
para poder marcharse sin temor
sin que el mundo extrañe su esplendor.
