¿Una Luna Impostora? / A fake moon?

El sol llegó a casa,
con una tierna invitada,
era la Luna plateada
que vino de visita por una temporada,

El sol la dejó en la silla,
y fue a traer una bebida,
quería que se sintiera bien atendida
y una limonada sería bien recibida.

The sun came home,
with a sweet guest,
it was the silvery moon,
who came to visit for a while.

The sun left her in the chair
and went to get a drink;
he wanted her to feel well taken care of,
and some lemonade would be just the thing.

La Luna de la silla se bajó
y en la alfombra se paró
pero está le dió picor
y cuando se sacudió, algo ocurrió.

La Luna perdió su color
y totalmente negra quedó,
es un astro impostor
y cuando el sol llegó de casa la sacó.

The Moon got off the chair
and stood on the rug,
but the rug made her itch,
and when she shook herself, something happened.

The Moon lost her color
and turned completely black;
she’s a fake moon,
and when the Sun came home, he kicked her out.

El sol tras este evento
se recostó un momento,
la Luna regreso en silencio
y tomó el color para volver a ponérselo.

Al cielo se fue con afán,
nunca quiso a nadie engañar,
ella es la Luna de verdad,
solo que sin maquillaje no se ve igual.

After this event,
the sun rested for a moment,
the Moon returned in silence
and took the color to put it back on.

She hurried off into the sky,
never meaning to deceive anyone;
she is the real Moon,
it’s just that without makeup, she doesn’t look the same.
