Una familia para la hoja amarilla / A family for the yellow leaf

Una mañana bonita
las hojas reposan tranquilas,
hasta que son interrumpidas,
por una hoja amarilla,
que va cayendo solita
y las demás se arruman a recibirla,
para que no se dañe con la caída.

A beautiful morning
the leaves lie quietly,
until they are interrupted
by a yellow leaf,
that falls by itself
and the others crumple to receive it,
so that it is not damaged by the fall.

Las otras hojas se marchan
y llega un árbol de buena mirada,
trae una hormiga entre sus ramas
la cual a explorar se baja
y encuentra la hoja amarillada,
la toma, es que le agrada
para hacerla parte de su morada.

The other leaves leave
and a good-looking tree arrives,
brings an ant among its branches
which goes down to explore
and finds the yellowed leaf,
it takes it, it likes it
to make it part of his dwelling.

Y es así como una hoja amarilla,
ahora tiene una nueva familia,
un árbol y una hormiga
le dieron un lugar en la rama cobriza,
para que no estuviera sólita,
sino cuidada, protegida
para que se sintiera amada y querida.
