Una avena descomplicada / An uncomplicated oat

Entre las hojas de una lechuga crespa,
descansa el copo de avena,
duerme con tranquilidad extrema,
ahí nadie lo molesta.

Pero un día la lechuga se cansa,
de ser una cama,
ella sabe que sirve para la ensalada,
no para que la avena duerma plácida.

Between the leaves of a curly lettuce, rests the oat flake that sleeps with extreme tranquility, no one bothers it there.
But one day the lettuce gets tired of being a bed, it knows that it is used for the salad, not for the oats to sleep peacefully.

Entonces, la lechuga se mueve
se contonea fuerte,
lanza lejos a la avena,
sin remordimiento, sin vergüenza.

La avena cae acostada
y se sienta asustada,
ella cree que cayó de la cama,
no sabe que fue lanzada.

Then, the lettuce moves, wiggles hard, throws the oats away, without remorse, without shame.

Se levanta lento,
para no sentir mareo,
se sienta sobre la lechuga encrespada,
planea volver a dormir, como si nada pasara.

Pero la lechuga se enfada
y con fuerza otra vez la lanza,
la avena comprende que no es amada
y que debe buscar una nueva morada.

Oats gets up slowly, so as not to feel dizzy, sits on the curled lettuce because he plans to go back to sleep, as if nothing happened.

Ella no tiene miedo a nada,
es una avena descomplicada,
se va caminando con buena cara
y encuentra frutas de verde cáscara.

Son limones bellos,
con un aroma fresco,
entre ellos la avena se recuesta
y se duerme de forma plena.
