Una almohada para mi perro / A pillow for my dog
Traje algo en mi cartera
y entré a casa con cautela,
mi perro dormía de forma amena
es perezoso, nada lo alienta.
Saque del bolso una masa beige
que se moldea fácil y bien,
sobre la mesa la coloqué,
mi perro mi vio y se durmió otra vez.
I brought something home in my purse
and entered the house cautiously,
my dog was sleeping peacefully,
he’s lazy; nothing stirs him.
I took a beige lump out of my bag,
it molds easily and well,
and placed it on the table,
my dog looked at me and fell asleep again.
Empecé a trabajar,
a estirarla sin parar,
poco a poco le di la forma ideal
con patas y algo más.
Tomé la jarra que tenía café
y una gota dejé caer,
un ojo en la masa dibujé
es una pulga de color beige.
I started working,
kneading it nonstop,
little by little I shaped it perfectly
with legs and a few other details.
I took the coffee pot
and let a drop fall,
I drew an eye on the dough,
it’s a beige-colored flea.
Estaba lista mi creación
y en ese instante mi perro despertó,
lo llamé con emoción
y sobre él puse la figura que creé yo.
El animal no prestó atención
y de nuevo se acostó
y la pulga que le hice con amor,
cómo almohada la uso.
My creation was ready,
and just then my dog woke up,
I called him excitedly
and placed the figure I had made on top of him.
The dog paid no attention
and lay down again,
and the flea I made with love,
he uses it as a pillow.
Trabajé en esta manualidad,
para darle una motivación real,
para que dejé la pereza ya
e intenté con la pulga jugar.
Mi idea no sirvió,
eso sí, otra función para esta encontró,
mi perrito duerme mejor
una almohada con forma de pulga comodidad le dio.
I worked on this craft,
to give myself some real motivation,
so I’d stop being lazy
and try to play with the flea.
My idea didn’t work out,
but I did find another use for it,
my little dog sleeps better
now that he has a flea-shaped pillow to keep him comfortable.
