Un sol para la ensalada / A sun for the salad

Un perro juguetón,
observa con admiración el sol,
por eso trae una banca marrón
y a un techo se sube sin preocupación.

Alcanza desde este lugar al gran astro
y lo toma sin lastimarlo,
se lo lleva en su trompa afanado,
se robó el sol y nadie se ha percatado.

A playful dog,
gazes admiringly at the sun,
so he brings a brown bench
and climbs onto a roof without a care.

From this spot, he reaches for the great star
and takes it without hurting it,
carrying it away in his snout with great haste,
he stole the sun, and no one has noticed.

Regresa con el astro a su casa
y lo deja donde está una fruta naranja,
espera a que yo salga
para alegrarme con un astro en mi ensalada.

Pero yo, yo no quiero comer sol
y el perro entiende la situación,
toma de nuevo el astro con amor
y se lo lleva con convicción.

He returns with the sun to his home
and leaves it where there’s an orange fruit,
waiting for me to come out
so I can enjoy a sun in my salad.

But I, I don’t want to eat the sun,
and the dog understands the situation,
he takes the sun back with love
and carries it away with conviction.

Llega a la calle y no sabe que hacer,
no es fácil subir el sol está vez,
el astro quiere aquí permanecer
y al perro se lo hace saber.

El sol se posa en la cola del animal
y cuando la noche con su oscuridad
llega a la ciudad,
el sol alumbra como una lámpara sin igual.

He steps out onto the street and doesn't know what to do;
it's not easy for the sun to rise this time,
the sun wants to stay here
and lets the dog know.

The sun settles on the animal's tail,
and when night, with its darkness,
descends on the city,
the sun shines like a real lamp
