Un ser que quería leer / A being who wanted to read

Debajo de un puente de madera,
se ve salir una figura nueva,
es amarilla y pronto se eleva,
es un globo que vuela sin cautela
y tras el viene un ser de mirada bella.

Este raro ser se sienta a esperar
hasta que el globo decide regresar
y es que con el viene algo más,
trae la Luna con su brillo sin igual
y al ser sin miedo se la da.

Under a wooden bridge,
a new figure emerges,
it is yellow and soon rises,
it is a balloon flying without caution,
and behind it comes a being with a beautiful gaze.

This being sits and waits
until the balloon decides to return,
and with it comes something else,
it brings the moon with its unmatched brightness
and fearlessly gives it to the being.

El raro ser, que es de color beige,
toma la luna, aunque grande es,
bajo el puente la lleva esta vez
y cuando la noche llega después,
todo queda oscuro, el brillo se fue.

Se ha robado la Luna, es verdad
y la oscuridad se tomó la ciudad
se la llevó a su casa con habilidad,
porque quería su brillo llevar
para poder leer con claridad.

This beige-colored creature,
takes the moon, even though it is large,
carries it under the bridge this time,
and when night falls later,
everything is dark, the brightness is gone.

It has stolen the moon, it's true,
and darkness has taken over the city.
It took it home with skill,
because it wanted to take its brightness
so it could read clearly.

Al amigo de color beige,
le gusta mucho leer,
pero sin luz no lo podía hacer
y sufría al intentar ver
las letras en las hojas de papel.

Por eso contrató un globo,
para que trajera luz de cualquier modo
este llegó con la Luna y es asombroso,
ahora el extraño ser lee gozoso,
un libro grandioso.

The beige friend
loves to read,
but without light he couldn't do it
and suffered trying to see
the letters on the pages.

So he hired a balloon
to bring light any way it could,
it arrived with the moon and it's amazing,
now the strange being reads joyfully,
a great book.
