Un regalo para mi abuela / A gift for my grandmother
One day my grandmother was sitting
on a bench in front of the house,
everything was very quiet,
until a strange presence fell from the sky.
It was the sun, which had plummeted from the sky
and the poor thing was unconscious,
my grandmother struggled to lift it up
and carried it home.

trajo unas pastillas verde esperanza
She laid him down on the sofa at home
and went to get some medicine she had stashed away,
brought back some hope-green pills
and gave them to him while he was completely unaware.
She waited a while
until the medicine took effect,
the happy sun woke up
and left the place with a smile.

Se fue hasta donde había caído
y se despidió, estaba agradecido,
mi abuela le dió un abrazo bonito
y el astro regresó a su sitio.
Mi abuelita volvió a casa
He went to where he had fallen
and said goodbye, he was grateful,
my grandmother gave him a warm hug,
and the star returned to its place.
My grandmother went back home
and saw something shining on the sofa,
it was a golden ray of light illuminating the living room,
a gift from the sun for the one who helped it without expecting anything in return.
