Un Pez Perezoso / A Lazy Fish

Un pez va nadando
y se acerca a la orilla afanado,
sale del agua y se va andando,
por la pradera de cesped cortado.

Llega hasta la ciudad
y la atraviesa con habilidad,
el sol llega a abrigar de más,
ojalá el pez no se vaya a deshidratar.

A fish swims along
and hurries toward the shore,
jumps out of the water and walks away,
across the lawn of freshly mowed grass.

It reaches the city
and makes its way through it with ease,
the sun grows too hot,
I hope the fish doesn't get dehydrated.

Cuando el sol de nuevo se va
y la temperatura baja está,
el pez aparece con serenidad
y está vez lleva algo inusual.

Arrastra una alfombra
y sobre esta un caballo se asoma,
es de madera, de la que flota
liviana y de forma exótica.

When the sun sets once more
and the temperature drops,
the fish appears calmly
and this time it’s carrying something unusual.

It drags a rug
and on it a horse peeks out,
it’s made of wood, the kind that floats
lightweight and with an exotic shape.

El pez lleva el caballo hasta el mar
y ahí lo toma con amabilidad,
lo lanza al agua sin pensar
y este flota, al fondo no se va.

El pez se trepa sobre él
y pasea por el mar sin hundirse está vez,
no nada, cualquier rumbo está bien
es un pez que perezoso es.

The fish carries the horse to the sea
and there, gently takes it,
throws it into the water without a second thought,
and it floats it doesn’t sink to the bottom.

The fish climbs on top of it
and swims through the sea without sinking this time,
it doesn’t swim, any direction will do
it’s a lazy fish.

Un animal que debería nadar,
porque tiene aletas de verdad,
le da pereza y prefiere flotar,
en un caballo de madera que trajo desde la ciudad.

An animal that should be swimming,
since it has real fins,
can't be bothered and prefers to float
on a wooden horse it brought from the city.
