Un pétalo en el cielo / A petal in the sky

Me encontré un pétalo amarillo
y me pareció bonito,
lo recogí del piso
y lo llevé conmigo.

Mientras iba caminando,
el pétalo fue cambiando,
aumentó su tamaño
y ya no pude cargarlo.

I found a yellow petal
and I thought it was pretty,
I picked it up from the floor
and carried it with me.

As I was walking,
the petal was changing,
increased in size
and I could no longer carry it.

Lo dejé por un rato,
era un pétalo pesado,
no podía arrastrarlo
porque podría dañarlo.

Entre unas ramas lo escondí
y a buscar mi auto me fui,
confiado en que al volver estaría ahí,
pero no ocurrió así.

I left it for a while,
was a heavy petal,
I could not drag it
because it could damage it.

I hid it among some branches
and went to look for my car,
confident that when I came back it would be there,
but it didn't happen that way.

Al llegar no lo encontré,
alce la mirada y lo pude ver
un nubarron lo llevaba con él
y el pétalo se veía bien.

Me dijo adiós, adios
y me lanzó un poco de amor,
me marché a casa con la ilusión
de que el pétalo un hogar encontró.

When I arrived I did not find it,
I looked up and I could see it
a cloud had it with him
and the petal looked good.

He said goodbye, goodbye
and threw me a little love,
I went home with the illusion
that the petal found a home.
