Un ojo estrafalario / An eccentric eye

Entre las rocas sale algo,
parece un ojo solitario,
se queda un rato esperando
hasta que se acerca un topo estrellado,
que viene andando despacio.

Sobre el topo sin misterio salta,
el animal siente que algo extraña pasa,
tras un rato se acomoda en su cara
para ser un ojo más de apariencia rara
y el topo sin problema sigue su marcha.

Something emerges from among the rocks,
it looks like a solitary eye,
it waits for a while
until a starry mole approaches,
walking slowly.

It jumps onto the mole without mystery,
the animal senses that something strange is happening,
after a while it settles on its face
to become another strange-looking eye,
and the mole continues on its way without a problem.

Un día el topo va caminando
y se topa con un espejo olvidado,
se acerca para verse un rato
y reconoce que su reflejo es extraño
porque hay un ojo de diferente tamaño.

Se lanza y queda patas arriba,
se revuelca con codicia,
quiere quitarse lo que lleva encima,
un ojo de apariencia ridícula,
que se trepó sin invitación a su vida.

One day, the mole is walking along
and comes across a forgotten mirror,
he approaches to look at himself for a while
and realizes that his reflection is strange
because one of his eyes is a different size.

He throws himself down and ends up upside down,
rolling around greedily,
wanting to remove what is on top of him,
an eye that looks ridiculous,
which climbed into his life uninvited.

El topo estrellado logra su misión
y el ojo por fin se soltó,
en el espejo se observa con amor,
ahora siente que se ve mejor,
mientras el ojo se aleja por el desamor.

Sin embargo el topo estrellado,
se siente también nostálgico,
con aquel ser extraño,
se veía único y estrafalario
y decide ir a buscarlo.

The starry mole accomplishes its mission,
and the eye finally comes loose,
it looks at itself lovingly in the mirror,
now feeling that it looks better,
while the eye drifts away, heartbroken.

However, the starry mole
also feels nostalgic
for that strange being,
it looked unique and eccentric,
and decides to go look for it.

La dos son diferentes
y juntos se entienden,
mutuamente no se embellecen,
pero se complementan de forma sorprendente
y deciden caminar juntos nuevamente.

The two are different
and together they understand each other,
they do not embellish each other,
but they complement each other in a surprising way
and decide to walk together again.
