Un madero para Navidad / A log for Christmas
Viene bajando por la montaña,
una rama frondosa y agraciada,
en una moto amarilla anda,
hasta que llega a una carretera solitaria.
Encuentra sobre el pavimento,
un delgado madero,
no tiene hojas en su cuerpo
y lo lleva consigo sin miramiento.
He comes down the mountain,
a leafy and graceful branch,
riding a yellow motorcycle,
until he reaches a lonely road.
He finds on the pavement,
a thin piece of wood,
it has no leaves on its body
and he takes it with him without hesitation.
Atraviesa la ciudad,
en su moto rápido va,
hasta que llega a un hogar,
donde un gran jarrón hay.
En este jarro de cerámica,
pone el madero con elegancia,
ahí lo deja aquella frondosa rama
y la observa con añoranza.
He crosses the city,
riding fast on his motorcycle,
until he reaches a house,
where there is a large vase.
In this ceramic vase,
he elegantly places the wood,
leaving that leafy branch there
and looking at it longingly.
Tras un rato se escucha entrar
al dueño de este lugar,
la rama le dice que ese será su árbol de Navidad
y que no debe cortar árboles de verdad.
Al dueño no le preocupa esta situación
y toma la idea en consideración,
en el madero su bota navideña ubicó
esperando que la llene de regalos Santa Claus.
After a while, the owner of the place is heard entering,
the branch tells him that this will be his Christmas tree
and that he should not cut down real trees.
The owner is not concerned about this situation
and takes the idea into consideration.
He places his Christmas stocking on the log,
waiting for Santa Claus to fill it with gifts.
