Un insecto bueno / A beneficial insect
Una zanahoria muy anaranjada,
entra sin ser invitada a la casa,
atraviesa el comedor con calma
y se sienta en una silla baja.
Observa todo a su alrededor
y una alacena llama su atención,
hay alimentos de mucho color
y ordenados se ven mejor.
A very orange carrot,
enters the house uninvited,
calmly crosses the dining room,
and sits down on a low chair.
It observes everything around it,
and a cupboard catches its attention.
There is colorful food inside,
and it looks better when it's organized.
Mientras la zanahoria esta entretenida
llega un animal de tonalidad llamativa,
la zanahoria se asusta sin medida
y se trepa a la despensa con prisa.
Es un insecto de los que no lastiman
y tras un rato del lugar se retira,
la zanahoria se siente más tranquila
y desde lo alto la mira.
While the carrot is distracted,
a brightly colored animal arrives.
The carrot is terrified
and quickly climbs up to the pantry.
It is a harmless insect,
and after a while it leaves.
The carrot feels calmer
and watches it from above.
La zanahoria comienza a descender
y ahora llega un ciempiés,
la zanahoria se sube otra vez
y pide auxilio, este insecto más hábil es.
Y cuando piensa que va a ser devorada,
aparece el insecto de coloración grata
la zanahoria se lanza para ser salvada
y aquel ser del lugar la saca.
The carrot begins to descend,
and now a centipede arrives.
The carrot climbs back up again
and calls for help, for this insect is more skilled.
And just when she thinks she is about to be devoured,
the pleasantly colored insect appears.
The carrot throws herself forward to be saved,
and that creature from the place pulls her out.
El ciempiés no logro su presa
y con un trozo de patilla, se contenta,
tiene hambre, esta es una buena cena,
porque la zanahoria se marchó de hábil manera.
Algunas veces creemos
que algunos seres son perversos
pero, si mejor los conocemos
nos damos cuenta que son realmente buenos.
The centipede fails to catch its prey
and settles for a piece of watermelon rind.
It is hungry, but this is a good dinner,
because the carrot has cleverly escaped.
Sometimes we believe
that some beings are evil,
but if we get to know them,
we realize that they are good.
