Un hogar sobre el madero / A home on a log

Una hoja de albahaca fresca,
que no tenía familia cerca,
llevaba una vida modesta,
sobre un trozo de madera,
aunque se aburría con frecuencia.

Un día quiso ir a pasear
y del tronco intentó bajar,
le dio miedo, no fue capaz,
ahora era prisionera en su hogar
y debió sentarse a esperar.

A fresh basil leaf,
who had no family nearby,
lived a modest life,
on a piece of wood,

One day he wanted to go for a walk
and tried to climb down from the log,

Un pájaro llamado Alcaraván,
vino con calma a ayudar,
con su pico el madero trató de derribar
y lo movió, pero no lo pudo botar,

Entonces extendió sus alas,

Es que todos tenemos un hogar,
que extrañamos cuando lejos está,
por eso la rama volvió a su lugar
y un macaco la subió a visitar,
para que sepa que sola en lo alto no está.
