Un Dinosaurio y el Pan Dorado /A Dinosaur and the Golden Bread

Iba caminando un dinosaurio,
amarillo y de cuerpo agraciado,
tras una roca va pasando
y cuando sale, se ha transformado.

Ya no es un dinosaurio,
es una pluma de color verde claro,
se mueve rápido
hasta una polilla que come pan dorado.

A dinosaur was walking along,
yellow and graceful,
it passed behind a rock,
and when it emerged, it had transformed.

It’s no longer a dinosaur,
it’s a light green feather,
it moves quickly
toward a moth eating golden bread

La pluma se acerca al pan
y se lo quita al animal,
la polilla lo vuelve a agarrar
y ninguno lo quiere soltar.

Lo rompen en dos pedazos
y cada uno toma su pan dorado,
la polilla se lo come despacio
y la pluma se lo lleva arrastrado.

The feather reaches for the bread
and snatches it from the animal,
the moth grabs it back,
and neither wants to let go.

They tear it in two
and each takes a piece of golden bread,
the moth eats hers slowly,
and the feather drags hers away.

Pasa tras la roca con serenidad
y cambia cuando sale del lugar,
otra vez es un dinosaurio con un pan
el cual se come con afán.

Cuando acaba su pedazo,
tras la roca pasa al otro lado,
se transforma en una pluma verde claro
y se va a buscar otro trozo de pan dorado.

It moves calmly behind the rock
and changes as it leaves the spot,
once again, it’s a dinosaur with a piece of bread,
which it eats eagerly.

When it finishes its piece,
it moves to the other side of the rock,
transforms into a light green feather,
and goes off to find another piece of golden bread
